chapter 34 - stalker

It was already time for you to go home so you decided to tidy up your desk while humming to a song. Kento headed back early since he had to bring his mother to the clinic. You then received a text from none other than Satoruㅡ

You managed to get a cup of coffee at the lobby while waiting for Satoru, and you noticed you didn't get a single text from Suguru after he called earlier. That was like 5-6 hours ago. You were wondering if he was busy.

After 30 minutes of waiting, Satoru finally came and you entered the car with a serious face which scared him a bit because he knew he was late.

"You're late. I had 3 cups of coffee already while waiting for you." you said, purposely furrowing your eyebrows. You weren't really mad though, just trying to trick him.

"Sorry, sis. Stuck in a traffic." Satoru reasoned.

"Okay, so where do you wanna take me?" you changed the subject.

"Oh, I know this one place. I went with Kento once." he said. "So, how's work?"

"Good. You? How's life going since you ran away from your mama?" you teased him which almost got you cackling.

"I'll leave you at the roadside, Y/n." Satoru rolled his eyes after realizing you were trying to tease him.

Once arrived, Satoru parked his car right in front of the café and you saw how aesthetically beautiful the café was. You didn't know Satoru and Kento would go to cafés like this ㅡ Don't usually girls like these kinds of stuff?

"Their bestselling menu is Kimchi Aglio Olio." Satoru said as both of you sat at a table. "Never tasted it."

"Okay, I'll have that since I love kimchi." you said while looking through the menu. "And cheese balls."

"Sure, you can have everything in the menu." he teased which made you roll your eyes.

After Satoru and you ordered, both of you were in complete silence before Satoru started speaking, "So, how's life so far?"

"Good, I guess. But, I still have debts to pay." you said, and Satoru knew straight away what you were talking about. "Still have a long way to go until it is settled."

"Let me settle it for you." Satoru suggested but you immediately shook your head.

"It's okay, Satoru. I'll do it. I'm a... woman of my words." you said with a joking tone to cover the struggle you were facing.

"It's just ridiculousㅡ"

"Let's change the subject, shall we?" you immediately cut him off, "So, what are your plans?"

"Plans? Um, I don't have any plans yet." Satoru said with a sigh, "But I know for a fact they're not giving up. I have a feeling Erika is going to catch me."

"As long as your mother is around, things are going to get complicated. Who knows she would kill me tomorrow?" you joked but Satoru obviously wasn't liking it. "Okay, sorryㅡ Look, our food."

The waiter came with the food and the smell of the Kimchi Aglio Olio made your mouth water. You looked over at Satoru's food, "You're eating just sandwich?"

"Lobster sandwich."  he emphasized the word lobster before taking a bite, "Oh god, it's delicious."

You took a bite of your food and it was heavenly, "This is so good."

Satoru took a few glances at you as he admired how enjoyable you were with your food. "You should come here with your friends or whatever and tell them Gojou Satoru recommended it."

"Should I really mention your name?" you asked.

"Yeah, you should. And maybe show them a picture of me."

"Not to my boyfriend though." you replied and that was when Satoru turned silent.

"B-Boyfriend? You have a boyfriend?" he questioned.

"Y-Yeah, I do have. Why? Surprised?"

Satoru stopped eating and he could not believe what he just heard, "Am I hearing things right? You have a boyfriend already? How long?"

"Just... recently."

"Show me his face. I need to know who you're dating." he said in a demanding tone, "Now, Y/n. Show me."

You slowly took your phone and searched for Suguru's picture and showed it to him, "Here..."

Satoru analyzed the picture, "Okay, not bad. Looks? Okay. But, are you sure he's sincere?"

"What do you mean?"

"He looks like the type to use you to get over his ex." he nonchalantly said which made you feel uneasy. "I'm sure he has an ex."

"Yeah, he has one. But, I don't think he would do that to me. You're literally judging him just by looking at his picture." you frowned.

"Y/n, if he ever hurts you, tell me. I'll beat the shit out of him." Satoru said like a big brother, "I'm serious."

"Okay." you rolled your eyes in response.

Suguru would never hurt you, that's for sure.

"Does he know you're eating dinner with me?" Satoru asked more questions, "I don't want him to think that I'm trying to steal you away or whatever. Is he the possessive type?"

"I.. don't know. We just dated though. Don't worry I'll tell him later." you continued to eat your food. "Now stop with the questions."

While both of you were busy eating and talking about other things, a pair of eyes were stalking you from afar. He pulled out his phone and called a certain number.

"Yup, they're eating together now. I'll share you the location."
