After that incident a week ago, you told your mom to stay with you at your apartment so it would be safer than at her own house. You thought about finding her a new house but she refused.

Kento came to office a few days ago and he seemed fine. He already accepted his father's death in order for his soul to be in peace, that was what he believed in. Meanwhile, Suguru and you had become closer after you decided to apologize for acting like shit. But, you never asked him about Dami.

"Are you sure you still want to live in that house?" you asked your mom who was sitting on the couch while her eyes focused on the TV screen. "I can find you a newㅡ"

"No need." she replied, eyes still focused on the screen. "That house holds so many memories. I can't just leave. If I ever move to another house, it means I've given up. I don't want to lose to that woman." her words made you silent for a moment. "I don't want to look weak." she let out a sigh.

"Mom." you grabbed her hand. "She's trying to humiliate you and I won't let that happen again."

"She has lots of connections, people that backs her up and we couldn't even stand a chance." she said, and you couldn't deny that. Rich people can get everything they want. They can do literally anything without getting judged.

"I can't let her do anything to you again. I'll protect you, okay?" you wrapped your arms around her.

"I'm so lucky to have a daughter like you." she smiled at you.

As you were having some bonding time with your mom, someone rang the doorbell. You lazily got up and shuffled towards the door, looking through the peep hole before opening it. "Oh, damn." you were surprised to see Kento's face there. Speaking of Kento, you never told your mom that he was living next to you the entire time. You hurriedly opened the door, got out and closed it, making him confused at your sudden action. "Yes?" you flashed a smile. "Do you need anything?"

"Hi, Y/n. You look like you're in a rush or something?" he asked while holding something with his left hand. He looked good wearing just a plain white shirt. "Is there someone else in your apartment?"

"Yeah, it's my mom. She's currently staying here." you briefly explained, "I can't let her see you. She'll go crazy."

He seemed confused, "And why is that?"

"You'll know why but I hope it isn't happening."

"I see. Anyways, this is for you." he handed you a bag containing a cake box, the logo brand on that bag was familiar.

"F-For me?"

"Erika asked me to give this to you. Seems like she's interested in you." he said. "I went there and before I left, she told me if I didn't give this to you, she would kill me."

"Wow, that's so nice of her. And, how come she remembers me?" you were touched.

"I would always come there alone. So, when I brought you along, she got too excitedzl Nanami said. "By the way, this cake is raspberㅡ"

"Y/n, what are you doing outsiㅡ"

Kento and you paused, eyes instantly diverted to the woman who appeared at the door next to you. She was also frozen when she had her eyes at the both of you.

"Y/n, who is this fine looking man?" your mom said in a whisper tone but it was loud enough for Kento to hear it. "What a handsome man!" she continued.

"Good afternoon." he immediately bowed, "I'm Nanami Kento, Y/n's neighbour. A pleasure to meet you."

Your mom's eyes grew wider. "Nanami Kento? Isn't that your CEO's name? Your neighbour?" she looked at you and Kento repeatedly.

"Uh-huh." you nodded, letting out a sigh. "Guess I was taking so long outside, huh?"

"Yeah! I was starting to feel suspicious already." your mom said and immediately had her eyes on Kento, smiling. "Mr. CEO, can I ask you a question? Answer it honestly."

"S-Sure."

You were getting nervous. "Mom."

"Do you have any feelings for my daughter? Do you want to date my daughter?"

"Mom!" you looked at her in disbelief.

You pulled your mom away from Kento and hid her behind your back. "Now you know." you mouthed to him, which he just replied with a grin. "Alright, mom. Let's head inside. Oh, and thank you for this cake." you smiled at him.

"Hope you enjoy it." he said, smiling back.

"You should come in, Nanami!" your mom joined in but you ignored her. You turned around to wave at Kento before closing the door. "Mom! You should really behave in front of the CEO!" you said.

"He likes you. It's too obvious." was your mom's reply.

"No, mom."

"Okay, let's eat the cake!"

Later that night, your mom went to bed early since she developed a bad migraine. Quietly, you headed towards the balcony to get some fresh air.

Out of nowhere, you could hear his voice. To make it even weirder, it was clear and it didn't feel like you were hallucinating or something. "What the fuck?" you scratched your head, feeling uneasy. "This is creepy." you mumbled to yourself, instantly went back in, locking the door to the balcony. "Why the fuck am I hearing Satoruㅡ" you stopped, because this time, it was loud and even more clear.

You definitely weren't having it.

You walked towards the door, opened it, which startled two men who were talking outside of Kento's doorstep. That very moment, your jaw dropped, same goes to the white haired man next to Kento.

"Y/n, are you okay?" Kento looked concerned, then turned to his friend. "Satoru, you should head homeㅡ"

"You're living next to Kento?" Satoru asked you, still wearing a shocked expression.

"What the hell are you doing here?" you replied back.

"I'm visiting my friend!" he replied.

"Hold on." Kento was puzzled. "Both of you know each other?"

"You know what? I don't even know him. Sorry to bother you two." you flashed a smile at them before deciding to close the door.

"Y/n, wait." Satoru called for you which made you halted, "I'm not done talking to you yet."

"Who are you?" you asked him with a disgusted look on your face. "I don't talk to weird people especially people with white hair."

"Satoru, I'll see you.. whenever we see each other then?" Kento was confused with the situation but he decided to get inside his apartment.

Satoru was quick to hold the door before you could close it, "I need to talk to you for a moment! Stop pushing the door!"

You did what he told you and crossed your arms, "Great. Now you know where I live. Then, you'll tell your mama and she comes here andㅡ"

"About that." Satoru cut you off, "I heard how you talked to my mother. You were being so rude, Y/n. I can't believe you would say things like that."

"Your precious mother crossed the line. I'm not going to be nice anymore, Satoru." you told him, "Tell your mother if she's trying to do any weird shit to my mom again, she's going to regret it."

Satoru rolled his eyes and laughed, "Excuse me, Y/n. You don't have any proof. How are you so sure that my mother did all those things?"

"I knew you would defend your precious mother. So, I think there's no need for us to talk. You should go home."

"Y/n, I'm not allowing you to be rude to my mother again. This is a warning to you." he said, looking at you intensely.

"Wow, a warning. You're a joke, Satoru." you said before slamming the door shut at his face.
