chapter 19 - talking about your problems

"Warning, my ass." you rolled your eyes while making a cup of tea in the kitchen. That was an expected reaction from Satoru, but quite unexpected that him and Kento were friends!

You quietly made way towards the living room and sat on the sofa with your cup of tea. "The audacity." you rolled your eyes again before sipping the tea. "Oh my god, I'm so angry."

You needed someone to let it all out but you couldn't find who. You clutched your chest and could feel your heart raced, then, you received a text from your neighbor.

are you okay?
i heard you were raising your voice earlier at satoru
and he did the same too
i'm sorry i didn't mean to eavesdrop
but it was loud enough for me to hear it

You stared at the texts, and thought that maybe you should tell Kento? But, at the same time, you didn't want to burden him with your problems.

i'll buy breakfast tmrw to make it up to you

A smile appeared on your lips before you put your phone aside. You felt much better now knowing that Kento was concerned about you. He was definitely the most nicest person you've ever met.

Then, your mind shifted to Suguru in an instant when he decided to give you a call which you gladly picked it up.

What a perfect timing.

"Hey, Suguru." you greeted.

(Hey there, my favourite girl. How are you?)

"Great, I guess. What's up?"

(I just want to ask if you're available this Saturday)

"Are you taking me out again?" you chuckled, "Where to now?"

(There are a few of us: Junpei, Haruto and his wife, Sayaka, Dami, Yuji... and you can ask Nobara if she wants to tag along. We're planning to go to Disneyland)

"Oh, okay. That sounds fun." you didn't know what to feel as you heard Dami's name.

(Hope you could tag along. Looking forward to seeing you there)

"Sure, Suguru."

You peeked inside the bedroom and saw your mom was still sound asleep, so you quietly headed next door. "Sorry if I'm bothering you." you said once you were inside of Kento's apartment.

"Not at all. It's good to have company sometimes." he said, flashing a brief smile. "You okay? There's this uneasy look on your face."

"I need your opinion on something." you began to talk, "I don't know if I like this guy. But, he seems to like me. He took me out once and I could see that he was interested in me and I kinda liked him too. But, my feelings started to change a bit when I saw him with another woman. I don't feel the same anymore. I never confronted him about it."

"Why don't you confront him about it?" he asked.

"I don't know. I saw him with that woman at his house. I don't want him to know that I went to his house. He must've thought I was stalking him or something." you said with a sigh, "Don't get me wrong. I wasn't stalking him. I happened to pass by his house." you lied.

"Y/n, as someone who has never been in a relationship, let me tell you one thing." he crossed his arms and cleared his throat, "I suspect that he is hiding something from you."

You stayed silent.

"The fact that it happened right when you passed by his house. Don't you think God was telling you something?"

Kento was right.

"You're.. right. I never realized that." you took a deep breath.

"This is my opinion, Y/n. It's up to you. Maybe you should investigate first before assuming things. I'm just saying." Kento advised and you nodded in reply.

"Yeah, maybe I should do that." you then flashed a smile at him, "I feel so much better now. Wait, you never be in a relationship?"

"No. But, my mother once hooked me up with a woman who was the same age as me but she was controlling everything I do. I got so frustrated and told her off during our date." he said while he tried to remember more about what happened, "It was 2 years ago. I never heard from her again."

"Slay, Kento. I mean it." you laughed, and he laughed along too.

Once it was already 10pm, you decided to head back.

"Good night, Y/n." Kento said while waving at you at the door.

"Night." you smiled at him before entering your apartment. Your heart felt a bit at ease after talking and gossiping with Kento.

Come to think of it, you couldn't believe you actually did that with your boss.
