Once Kento and Satoru finished their lunch, Kento decided to takeaway some breads there. He carefully picked them and made sure there were no nuts. which made Satoru a bit puzzled, "I thought you're already full.""This is for my secretary." he said.
"I'm curious about your secretary. Can I meet her?" he joked but it was true that he was curious.
"No need to see her."
Satoru pouted, "Why not? It's not like I would do anything to her."
Kento actually didn't want him to know that you were his secretary. He would try his best to avoid him seeing you.
While waiting for Kento queuing at the cashier, Satoru waited outside and stared at the ground for a moment. Why was Kento defending you, he thought. Satoru was confident that his mother was innocent.
Should I ask Y/n what actually happened?
No, no need.
She's at fault, anyways.
Mother told me Y/n was yelling and accused her of something she didn't do.
"There's Ijichi." Kento appeared next to Satoru while pointing towards the car. Both of them made way towards it and got inside together. "I'm going to visit my father's grave this weekend." Kento opened up and Satoru was quick to look at him. "Wanna come along?"
"Yeah, I'll meet you there. Just send me the location." Satoru nodded at his friend. He felt bad for Kento, as he was quite close to his father. He didn't really know what happened to his father but all he knew was that he hung himself. "How's your mother? Is she doing okay?"
"She's trying her best to be okay everyday. Her sister lives with her now. At least she has someone by her side. I usually come to visit 3 times a week." Kento said and Satoru could sense that he was trying his best to hide his sadness as well. "He didn't even left a note. I wonder why."
Satoru didn't know what to respond.
As they were about to drop Satoru at his office, he noticed a familiar car parked at the corner which made him sigh. It was Erika's car. He turned to Kento and asked, "Can you accompany me to my office? That woman is here and if you're with me, she will probably leave."
"Fine."
Satoru and Kento exited the car and went straight to Satoru's office and his prediction was right ㅡ Erika was indeed there, with Mrs. Gojou at her side. Satoru was looking for Yuta, but maybe he went out for lunch.
"Oh, Toru! There you are." Erika waved at him as soon as she saw him but her eyes immediately widened to see her regular customer next to him, "Nanami Kento?"
"What are you doing here? I told you I am busy." Satoru said to her and Mrs. Gojou was quick to interrupt,
"It wouldn't hurt to spend time at least an hour with Erika, is it?" Mrs. Gojou said and when she landed her eyes on Kento, she looked uninterested. "You went out with Kento, I see."
"Talked about work." Satoru replied.
Kento sighed and he felt the urge to leave the awkward situation, "Very well then. I will take my leave now as I have an important meeting to attend. Goodbye." Kento said before turning around to leave. He promised himself to send a text to Satoru that he was sorry to leave him. He just couldn't stand it if his mother was there.
Once Kento was no longer in sight, Mrs. Gojou immediately grabbed her son's arm happily. "I have booked a restaurant tonight for you two to have dinner together!"
"Butㅡ"
"I don't want to hear any excuses, young man. This is your chance to know Erika well." she whispered, forcing a smile at Satoru, "Understand?"
He didn't reply.
"Then it's settled! I hope the two of you will have a great time together." she said while holding Erika's hand.
"See you tonight." Erika smiled at him. "I can wait for you here until your shift is over."
"How sweet of you!" Mrs. Gojou chuckled before she was about to leave them. "Satoru, I'm heading out for a while. Will be back by 9pm."
Satoru was a bit puzzled, "Huh? Where are you going?"
It took a while until she replied, "Hanging out with my friends." she smiled and walked away.
"Toru, can I walk around to see the building?" Erika asked with a slightly high pitched voice.
"Whatever you want to do." he sighed, accepting his fate that he had to go to dinner with Erika later.
Also, how dare Kento fled the scene?!
Kento on the other hand, once he arrived at his office, he quickly searched for you and handed you the bread he bought. You looked at him and said, "But, I didn't ask for anythiㅡ"
"Take it or I won't talk to you." Kento joked but he quickly chuckled when you took them. "Thank you for taking it."
"No, thank you for buying it for me." you smiled at him, "How was your lunch with the white haired guy?"
"He found out I have a female secretary and he was dying to see who it is." Kento said which made you roll your eyes. "Don't worry. I'll make sure he won't see you." he reassured you, but he knew Satoru would eventually find out.
"I don't care if he knows. Even if he tells his mother, I don't care either. I'll do what I can to defend myself." you said, letting out a sigh before your eyes looked at the computer screen.
After hearing those words, Kento decided to ask, "Satoru told me something earlier. He said you were rude to his mother. Something happened between you and her?"
You stopped what you were doing and looked at him, "I was and I think she deserved it. That's all." you weren't planning to tell Kento yet and he understood. "I never liked her."
"Great. I guess I'm not the only one then."
You were surprised that Kento knew his mother, "Oh?"
"Met her a few times already. I didn't like her too. Whenever I look at her face, I feel anxious."
"Same, Kento. Same." you agreed. "But, I also do feel like slapping her sometimesㅡ wait no, all the time."
