Safety Rules

Tim: There are rules for being a mermaid?

Marinette: Well...I won't consider you six mermaids..well mermen, but yes. No one here can know you're humans. Mermaids have..hated humans since the sinking of Atlantis. They were always trying to take our knowledge, magic and probably even want to use us for their personal gain.
Next rule. Since you are all mermen now, you will most likely develop powers of your own or abilities. Mine is the manipulation of water or creation.

Dick: I have a question about the tiny creature swimming beside you. What is it?

Tikki: I am a she and My name's Tikki and I'm a waterlily; an ancient magical being that has roamed the seas since the beginning of time. I'm also Ladybug's bonded lily which means that we share our powers. I can also enable her to make them more powerful by lending her my powers.

Marinette: Each kid has one until they are about...maybe in their mid twenties and then they bond forever and the lilies are now..physically connected to us mer-folk.

Jason: And of course, it would seem suspicious that we don't have one.

Marinette: Correct.
Third rule. You are not allowed to go up to the surface.

Damian: But weren't you on the surface?

Marinette: I'm more or less a free spirit. Don't change the subject.
Fourth rule and most important. The Full Moon.

Tim: Finally..

Marinette: The Full Moon and water don't mix. You must never look, touch, or be out during a full moon. That's when things go crazy.

Bruce: Crazy how?

Tikki: When Ladybug got affected last time, she went on an eating spree and soon after barfed it all up.

Marinette: Thanks for reminding me. The full moon you six have been affected by is very special. How you may ask. Just look at yourselves. That full moon passes over that pool every 3 years on its cycle around the earth. In order for you six to get your tails back, you'll need to be back in that pool before the moon passes its converging point.

Any questions?

Dick: Just one. What if we miss it?

Marinette: Simple, you'll stay like this forever, or you'll probably have to wait another 3 years under the water. I hope you guys didn't have much of a life up on the surface. You're as good as dead in the water now.

She gave a fake smiled to the boys and continued swimming on her back looking up. The batfamily swam slowly behind her as they exchanged glances. "Oh come on now, all you have to do is survive. Oh and I forgot one more thing...Since all of you are in the age group for mer-school, then you'll most definitely be dead if you don't harness your powers by that time. Hah! Can't wait to see who'll go out first."

The boys stopped with their jaws dropped. School...? they all said in their heads. Marinette turned herself over then stopped stopped. "Boys, we're here. Don't delay." She pointed downward and there they saw an under water city inside a huge bubble. Their eyes widened as the mermaid and her lily chuckled at their expressions.

Jason: You live...down there..?

Dick: That's a pretty big place.

Tim: Miss..Ladybug was it, how do we get in..-

Damian: And preferably back out?

Marinette: Heh, just swim right through. But at times, the guards will shut the bubble so that no one can enter or leave; that mostly happens during full moons.
And the name's Marinette. I just use 'Ladybug' as an alter ego.
