The next year passed by and now the batboys only had one year left to go. They were happy but also..they were disappointed and saddened by the fact that they had to leave this place. Marinette and the Dupain-Chengs have been helping them through this entire mess, even if they didn't know about their little secret. Marinette was currently at the batfamily's mansion having an afternoon lunch in an attempt to get away from her house.

Dick: Hey blueberry. You said you wanted to go up the surface and live that kind of life. Did you tell your parents?

Marinette: I've told them when I was little and they said I was going crazy so after that I took matters into my own tail.

Jason: But...what if you came with us? Let's say..worse case scenario that your parents don't want you to go to the surface after somehow finding out we're humans.

Tim: What if we convinced them to allow you to come with us?

Damian: After the stunt Marin and Todd pulled about two years ago, highly unlikely.

Jason: No need to remind me, demon spawn. *blushes*

Marinette: What did you two do? *grins*

Jason: Nothing that concerns you..-

Marinette: Oh, it technically does since he is my brother. And quite frankly, he's been warming up to you guys. Care to explain that, Jay?

Jason: Nothing is going on, OK!?

Marinette: Have you guys ever heard the saying that water has memory?

Dick: Hmm...No.

Tim: Once or twice.

Damian: I was never much of a swimmer..

Marinette: Well, Master Fu, Tikki and I have been learning how to perfect a trick where I can see the memories of specific places if I can tap into the collective consciousness of the sea.
Which means that I'll be able to..-

DING DONG!!

Jason: I'll get that, I feel so out of place right now.

He got up and went over to the door, opening it to see Marin. Jason pushed him outside as he followed closing the door behind him. "Uhh..What are you doing?" he asked grabbing Jason's hand that laid on his chest. "I can ask you the same thing." he countered, removing his hand. Marin sighed, "I'm looking for Mari-bug. Is she here?" He tapped his chin replying, "What if she is? Do you need her for something?"

He narrowed his eyes, "Do you need her for something?" Jason gave an awkward smile before the door opened. Marinette. "Stop your squabbling love fish. Marin, let's go!" They blushed as Marin caught up to his sister leaving the mansion.

Marin: You should stop hanging out with those guys, something's fishy about them?

Marinette: That's kinda ironic coming from you, Marin.

Marin: Whatever...just...I don't trust them.

Marinette: And what do you know about trust?

Marin: What are you..-

Marinette: What happened that night with you and Jay!? You still haven't told me. Every time I bring it up, your heart races.
If you don't tell me, then I'll find out the hard way.

Marin: Then tell me why you weren't in your room last year on the night of your birthday.

Marinette stopped and turned to look at him with anger in her eyes. "How about this, I tell you where I've been in exchange for the information about you and Jay on that night." she negotiated. Marin looked stunned by the sudden outburst. Why did she wanna know about it so badly? he thought. "Marinette, why are you so hung up on this?" She grit her teeth, "Why Do You Think!?" And with that she sped off out of the bubble.

He floated in his spot frozen as his sister left. He sighed as he swam off after her.

Tikki: Marinette, this isn't right, he should be allowed to keep secrets of his own.

Marinette: Oh boohoo, so I must tell maman, papa and him my secrets and my private thoughts. That isn't fair. And why wouldn't he just tell me. DOESN'T HE TRUST ME!?!?!

Marinette went faster as Tikki stopped. She was about to call for help but Marin showed up behind her. "Tikki, where's Marinette?" Tikki had a worried look on her face. "I think she just wants to be alone right now, Marin. Don't push her. I promise she'll be back, don't worry." He looked in her direction, the trails of bubbles fading away. He then did the only thing he could think of.

KNOCK KNOCK!!

Bruce: Hello?

Marin: It's me, can I have a word with your sons...
Please..it's kinda important..

Bruce: Come on in.
~~~~~
Tim: She swam away?
Dick: Well, go and find her.
Marin: She's mad at me about something and I don't know what is it.
Damian: You're a 'smart' guy, figure it out.
Marin: Please, can you just..
She spends a lot of time with you guys...more time she's ever spent with me. You all may know where she would've swam off to.
There's something about you all that doesn't add up but if my sister has that much trust in you, then I have to try.
The truth behind that night two years ago was...
~~~~~

Marinette kept swimming and swimming, passing the pool on her way out. She halted at the edge of the reef looking back. She then spotted a little hollow opening in on of the corals. She swam in and to the end it got brighter and brighter. She lifted her head and her eyes widened in awe. She swam over to the edge of the cave where the water stopped at and pulled herself up and onto the rocks.

She sat there and looked around at the beautiful crystals that lit up the cave. There was one hidden in a rock that she sat next to. She touched it but it stung. It was hot and left a red dot on her finger. She reached her hand out as it hovered over it. She froze the rock as the steam went everywhere. When she was done, the crystal was left behind. She picked it up and was even able to see her reflection in it.

It was a beautiful aquatic blue and it was mesmerising and smooth to the touch. She held it the palm of her hand and decided to keep it. She remembered that she collected a golden chain when she was out on her escapades and found it near Master Fu's trench and took it home. She looked at it, smiling. She then jumped from the rock back into the water and swam off back to the bubble to meet a bunch of worried, angry, and relieved faces.
