Confessions

Marinette: I-I...- I'm not ready to face them yet. I'm still mad at them, especially Marin.

Damian: Even my brothers aren't that possessive or overprotective of me.

Marinette: Thanks. That helps. *sarcasm*

Damian: My point is...maybe we could negotiate with them.

Marinette: How do you mean?

Damian: How about this. You ask your parents to visit the surface on the next full moon with us for the three years. When that time passes, you can go back to the sea with them.

Marinette: I don't think..they'll agree to that. Three years is a pretty long time. And we still haven't told them about you guys. Do you really wanna risk that secret?

Damian: Anything...for you.

She looked stunned at his comment as he watched her with such sincerity in his eyes and his gentle smile. She stared down at her tail trying to make up her mind. She then exhaled jumping back into the water. "You coming?" she grinned. "Right behind you." He followed her into the water and they both swam out speeding past the batboys who were scared for their life.

A knock came at the apartment door and Marin answered it. To his surprise, Marinette was there. He swam aside as she pushed through and floated in front of her parents. She then glared at Marin, "We need to talk. All of us, including you guys." She explained the situation and her family's faces sunk like cold water was rushing down their spines. The batfamily watched and listened until she finally proposed.

Marinette: I would like to join them on their journey back to the surface and stay there until the next full moon. I'll live with them for the three years and return after that. That's my proposal.

Tom: We would like to ask them about their personal life they had on the surface before sending you up there with them.

Sabine: It isn't a yes..But we'll see. Now go up to your room.

Tom: This is a lot to process.

She nodded then left for her room. Marin remained silent the entire time. Tom and Sabine gathered the information and bid the batfamily goodbye, but Jason stayed back and knocked on Marin's door. He reluctantly got up from his bed and answered the door. "What do you want?" He stared plainly at Jason as he sighed, "We need to talk about pixie. In. Private."

Jason: I think you guys should let her go.

Marin: Of course you would say that.

Jason: It's reassurance to you all that we will be able to protect Marinette when she's up there.
She'll be an adult next year. You should allow her to go. You can't keep her cooped up in this little bubble forever.

Marin: I can try.

Jason: At some point you're going to have to deal with the fact that she's going to grow up and leave you guys behind. That's life.
Most of all, you need to trust her. That's what she got mad about in the beginning and why you're in this situation right now.
She's mad at you because she thought you could trust her and that she could be trusted by you guys. But mostly you. All she wanted was your approval that she could be whoever and whatever the hell she wanted. Can't you at least gift her that?

Marin: ...I'll think about it.

Jason: Good. Well, I'm off. Later.

But before he could leave, Marin held him back. "Thanks, man." Jason looked at him then smiled, "I've now come to realise that..you've never even said my name since I got here." he joked. Marin chuckled, "I know what your name is, Jason. I just never considered you as a friend, that's all." Jason then switched the grip on his hand as he grabbed his yanking him forward to meet face-to-face with him.

"Are we friends now?" he smirked. Marin 'Pfft' at his remark trying to hide his blush and gently pushed him away. "Yeah, I guess.." Jason laughed as he pouted. Jason then cupped his cheeks and bent over kissing his forehead. "Your face could look more red than it already is? Wow." he teased. Marin began pushing him out the door, "Ok, it's time for you to leave. Right Now!" closing it. He leaned against the door, sliding down as he sat down, contemplating.

Damian: What took you so long, Todd!

Tim: I don't want to become fish bait for the full moon.

Dick: Don't stress about it you guys. He probably just wanted to say goodbye to his 'boyfriend'.

Jason: Shut up!

Bruce/Alfred: *smiles*

1 month later
Sabine: Marinette, we've made our decision.

Tom: We're allowing you to go up on the surface.

But..on one condition...

Marinette: That is...?

Marin: I'm going with you...

Marinette: *glares* Just perfect...I could already feel the leach attaching itself to me.
