Adelaide looked at herself for the last time in her large Mirror. Her costume was basic but she still pulled it off flawlessly.
With a skin tight, black dress hugging her body, she added a pair of dark wings she bought at the store the previous day.
People probably expected more from Adelaide, as she was known to dress up extravagantly but this year Adelaide had been so busy with everything that she kind of forgot.
She was lucky to even find a pair of black angel wings the day before halloween.
"Adelaide!" Her father shouted "Rue is here!"
"Coming dad!" She yelled back running down the stairs, while trying not to trip in her heals.
"Rue you look amazing." Adelaide said walking up to her and giving her a tight hug.
"Uh, wow. You, um, look incredible." Rue said nervously, making Adelaide laugh and grab Rues hand.
"Bye Dad!" Adelaide screamed, but before he could say anything else she slammed the door.

"Wow," Rue said nervously to Jules "Um, y-you look, fucking, amazing."
Adelaide chimed in making Jules suddenly notice her for the first time.
"Yeah you look great Jules." She said smiling slightly, not getting great vibes from the girls.
"Thank you, I don't really.. feel it, but, you know" Jules said dodging Rue when she attempted to kiss her.
Well this was awkward.
...But it doesn't.
"Uh you smell like alcohol?" Rue said to Jules.
"It's okay Rue, it's halloween. Let the girl live." Adelaide said grabbing Rues hand and leading her down the pass behind Jules.

The girls knocked on the door to Kat's house. When Kat answered the girls were automatically in awe.
"Well you look fucking cool"
"Wow"
"Shit Kat! Look at you" The last one was Adelaide, walking up and pulling Kat into a hug.
"It's like, whatever." Kat said smiling.
"I think i'm gonna get really fucked up tonight." Kat continued.
"Mm, same." Jules and Adelaide said in sync, making them both look at each-other and smile.
The last stop was the Howard's house, Lexi and Cassie would be joining the girls and Adelaide was excited. She would never tell Cassie this but she preferred Lexi over her. She wasn't as full on and emotional. Lexi was sweet and doubted herself a lot, which Adelaide thought she could help her with.
Opening the door Lexi stood there.. in the coolest Halloween costume Adelaide had ever seen.
"I'm Bob Ross.." No one said anything. "The painter PBS."
The girls stood there laughing before Adelaide said something.
"Oh my God. I fucking love it, Lexi" Making Lexi smile at her, Adelaide was always sweet to her and she was thankful.
"Hey creepy." Someone in the house said, Adelaide recognising it as Lexi's mother's voice.
"The whole point of halloween is to look attractive."
"No it's not." Lexi said.
"Oh really, you do me a favour and you count how many girlfriends of yours had dressed up like 50 year old men... report back to me."
Grabbing Lexi's hand Adelaide whispered in her ear.
"Don't listen to her, I think you look really good."
"Really?" Lexi said.
"Really."
The girls were interrupted by Cassie walking down the stairs.
"Is it too much?"
She was met with a bunch of "no's"
"Wow." Adelaide said.

You know when you're with someone, and things just aren't right. But you're afraid to ask because the answer might be worse than the feeling right now. I could tell Adelaide knew something was up with Jules and I.
"Hey, did you guys hear about Nate?" Cassie asked, making Adelaides stomach drop. Unknowingly making Jules suddenly anxious as well.
