Adelaide and Fez were seated next to each other, as close as possible.
Adelaide had been curled up into Fezco's side for the past 20 mins while she watched him sell drugs to drunk teenagers.
She looked up and noticed Rue walking towards them looking sad, clearing her throat making Fezco look up and greet her.
"Hey wassup, kid" Fezco said to Rue.
"Uh. Look, I owe you an apology."
Adelaide looked at the two confused. Why was Rue apologising?
"Nah, cmon now. You good." Fezco said.
"For real man. Um, I said some really fucked up shit I didn't mean."
"Listen Rue. You a drug addict. I don't take nothing a drug addict says personally, cause I don't believe what a drug addict says.. I love you, I hate you, go fuck yourself, it's all the same shit. You know what i'm saying?"
Which may of been true if Rue didn't mean so much to Fezco. Adelaide could tell he looked upset at whatever Rue was apologising about but knew he'd forgive her straight away. Fezco was just that kind of person, Adelaide admired him for that.
"As your friend imma need you to know that i'm sorry... and I love you."
"Love you too, kid."
Adelaide nearly burst in tears at the moment they were having. It wasn't often you saw the too being so serious and expressing how they felt to each-other. Adelaide was proud of them both in this moment.
"And thanks for not selling me drugs."
Adelaide finally pieced together what Rue said and understood the situation.
"As yo friend, I got chu'" Fezco finished.
Adelaide slowly grabbed his hand, interlocking her fingers with his, silently telling him that she was still next to him and listened to the conversation. Rue must of noticed the small action and smiled at the two, happy that they were together.
"You sober?" Fezco asked Rue, while squeezing Adelaides hand back.
Letting out of breath Rue answered,
"Yeah."
"And how is that?"
"You know whats weird? When you've been fucked up for so long that it feels like a new drug."
Fezco agreeing with her and Adelaide reaching out to take her hand in her empty one.
"The highs are high. But the, uh, lows are low."
"I'm proud of you, babe. Seriously." Adelaide said reaching over to give the girl a hug.
