"Where do you think we go when we die?"

"Shit, I'm too high for this conversation right now."

Fezco was staying over at Adelaides house for the night. Both of her parents were away for work and that meant she had the house to herself for two days.

Adelaide thought about throwing a party, or even having some girls over for a sleepover but knew she'd rather hang out with Fezco.. and that's what they were doing.

Somehow the two had ended up outside, in Adelaides large garden.
They were both starting at the night sky, one occasionally saying something to the other, but mostly staying silent and enjoying each-others company.

"I think when I die, I want to become a star. Look how pretty they are." Adelaide said smiling up to the sky.

"Whatever you want, Addy." Fezco replied, turning his head to look at her. Adelaide had a gorgeous side profile, not that it mattered to him but Fezco grew to love every single detail of Adelaides body.

Love.

Fezco had thought about the word a lot lately. Which he didn't mind, he just wasn't used to it.
He knew he loved his brother, Ashtray. He knew he loved his Grandma, and he knew he loved Rue.

But they were all Fezco's family, and even though he would always protect Adelaide like she was his family, he knew he loved her in a different way.

He would never admit it to anyone but Fezco had fallen in love for the first and only time when he saw the small brunette walk into his shop, accompanied by Rue.

Fezco didn't often remember much of what was going on, but he'd always remember the day he met Adelaide.

He first noticed the way she dressed. Everything looked expensive, she looked clean and none of her clothes were sitting out of place.

He then noticed the way she looked around the shop, her eyes full of curiosity like she'd never even stepped a foot into a place like it. Which Fezco noted was a weird reaction.

Next was when she looked at him, looking up and down, not in a judgmental way but in a way where she seemed to be looking through him. Like she could see and hear every thought going on in his head. Fezco often wondered if she had noticed how nervous he got when he she looked at him.

Fezco then observed the way she spoke to Rue, they looked so lovingly at each-other that he wondered if they were a couple.

Lastly, Fezco remembered the way she smiled at him when the girls left the shop. Fezco had never had someone smile at him the way Adelaide did.

-

Adelaide had "fallen in-love" before. She had her first and only boyfriend at the age of fourteen. Her boyfriend was seventeen, turning eighteen.

Adelaide always knew the age gap was not normal.

Jacob was tall and handsome though, and never failed to let Adelaide know how lucky she was was to have him.

Adelaide and Jacob met at school, Adelaide being a freshman and Jacob a senior.

It started off amazing, he was perfect. Besides the fact that he didn't want anyone knowing Adelaide was his girlfriend.

Adelaide didn't care though, she found it exciting sneaking behind everyone's back.

Adelaide didn't mind the sexual side of the relationship, yeah she would of preferred to actually watch the movie than make-out the entire time, but that was what you had to do when you were someone's girlfriend.

Thats was Adelaide thought, at least.

It wasn't thing before Jacob had gotten controlling.
First it was the way she dressed. Too revealing.
Second it was the way she talked. Too loud.
One by one, Jacob picked on every flaw Adelaide had. Now she knew why she was not allowed to be seen with him in public.
she was an embarrassment.

Adelaide didn't remember much of the last night they spent together.
She remembered not being in the mood for sex. She remembered screaming a lot. She remembered crying. She couldn't stop crying.

Adelaide never spoke to Jacob again. He graduated and left town shortly after anyways.

Adelaide had met Fezco not long after the Jacob incident.

She could recall every detail about that day.

Rue knocked on her front door, her father answered and let Adelaide know of the girls arrival.

They left together, hand in hand. Adelaide felt safe with Rue.

They then arrived at the gas station, besides going to Rue's house Adelaide hadn't been in that part of town much.

She noticed the ginger boy working there, he looked young, maybe a year or two older than her.

Adelaide remembered whispering to Rue about how she thought the boy was cute and the two giggled together.

When they left Adelaide made sure to turn around and smile at Fez, the most genuine smile she could muster up.

Maybe Adelaide did fall in-love then, but one thing she was certain on in the current moment was that she was wholeheartedly, in-love with Fezco.
