Act 24

"FUCK! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Slender snarls, throwing his phone against the wall as he pants heavily. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all!

"You don't have much choice," James points out. "She's your best shot at a smooth transition."

"I know......it just! What if she says no? Sure we can force the issue but things would be so much easier if she just accepted," Slender sighs. "What do I do?"

"Just be honest with her. Tell her the situation and if she shoots you down go with plan B. It's that simple Slender," James points out. "Besides, you could always......threaten her."

"I can't do that. I just got her to start liking me. Pavel is ready to take control but he needs somewhere from a few weeks to a few months. Someone needs to handle affairs until things are ready," Slender explains.

"Whatever you say boss. You better figure it out quick though. People are patient for only so long," James warns him.

"I know. I know," Slender sighs, cradling his head in his hands. "Get me a meeting with her."

"Oh! She's already here. I've just been waiting out your tantrum," James shrugs, smirking when he earns Slender's full attention. "Your afternoon is clear so take your time."

"You're a rotten man you know that?" Slender complains, settling in his office chair. "Send her in."

"As you wish," James hums before exiting the office.

"Hey, Slender," Y/N smiles softly when she enters the office, closing the door behind her. "We need to talk."

Slender freezes at those words, panic shooting through every fiber of his being as he scrambles to figure out what exactly she wanted to talk about. Was it their relationship? Did she come to figure out she really didn't like an uptight asshole like him? Maybe she really hadn't forgiven him and she was going to yell at him! He deserved that much at least if not more......He couldn't.....didn't WANT to let her leave him!

"It's about Belarus," She explains.

"I understand you don't want to go back," Slender sighs. "But."

"You need someone the people can trust. I understand an I accept," Y/N tells him.

"You......what?" Slender asks in shock.

"I will lead the country again until Pavel can complete the merge," Y/N tells him.

"Y/N.......," Slender breathes in disbelief.

"I know what I said but my country needs me. If I turn my back on it now then I'm no better than my parents," Y/N explains. "So, I'll go back."

"I....don't know what to say. This is unbelievable," Slender mumbles. "Thank you, Y/N. Thank you so much! How soon can you be ready?"

"Does now work?" She asks him with a soft smile.

"N-Now?" Slender pauses, realization hitting him a a ton of bricks.

"I have my bags packed. Not that I'll be needing much because I'll have a wardrobe but I packed the basics," She smiles.

"Y-Yes. Of course. We'll want to get you there right away," Slender sighs softly. "It's necessary in order to save your home."

"Should I cover flying expenses?" Y/N asks, hardly even noticing the drop of mood in Slender.

"No, I can easily cover those. Don't you at least wanna give Offender some warning? Jane as well maybe?" Slender questions.

"I already told them and they're fine with it," Y/N explains.

"Of course you did," Slender mumbles softly.
