Act 10

(Y/D): Your Dad's name
(Y/M): Your mom's name

Y/N and Pavel head outside and onto the balcony that was connected to the ballroom, the two taking a seat at one of the tables as music and chatter continues to filter out of the glass double doors. Luckily, it was only the two of them outside for the time being. Y/N pulls out a pack of cigarettes from her purse and lights one up, offering the pack to Pavel who shakes his head.

"You're a smoker?" He asks, shifting nervously in his seat.

"Occasionally. When I'm stressed they are relaxing," Y/N tells him with a shrug. "Plus, it keeps me away from other things."

"Your parents.....they'll want to know that you're alive and well. Shall I inform them of your accomplishments?" Pavel asks with a nervous smile.

"Do what you will, I don't care. They cast me out of my home fifteen years ago, Pavel. I really don't care. I have everything I need here. A new life, new friends, new allies. I don't care about the throne. Someday we're going to go to war against my family and I'm prepared to not be on their side," Y/N tells him.

"I want to be on your side should something like that ever happens! Russia has seen a large influx of vampire citizens and I only foresee that number growing," Pavel explains with a confident smile. "You have many of us on your side."

"Then why do you still report to my parents? If you were so confident you wouldn't be so nervous," Y/N coos, a sly grin coming to her lips. "You just want to figure out how strong I really am don't you?"

"N-No! That's not it at all!" Pavel cries out in protest. "Please believe me. My citizens and I are on your side Princess Y/N. Our biggest desire is to see you overtake the throne once again."

"Then you're living in a fantasy. I have no intention of returning to my title. I like my simple life how it is. I'm sorry, you'll have to find another princess to get behind," Y/N tells him with a soft sigh.

"I WILL change your mind," Pavel declares with determination. "Just you wait!"

~~Flash Back~~

"Mom! Dad! Just listen to me! An alliance with other creatures isn't a bad thing! In fact, it could benefit not only us but our entire country as well!" Y/N reasons as she chases her parents down the hall.

"We are noble creatures. We have no need for alliances with creatures that can't handle our way of life," (Y/D) snarls back as he comes to a halt. "What you're speaking of is treason!"

"What I'm talking about is FREEDOM father! We no longer have to hide out because we're afraid of being hunted down. I'm sure many of the humans will side with us as well," Y/N tells them. "If we can do it then it'll encourage other creatures to do it too!"

"It is not our fault that they are unable to live amongst the humans. We have grown and developed in our many years of survival without their help. If they can't do it then they belong on the bottom of the food chain," (Y/M) tells her.

"Just give me a small group of people. If I can convince them that vampires aren't bad and then reveal the truth we can go from their reactions. Either we have to kill them or we begin spreading the word!" Y/N begs them. "I'll be responsible for it all!"

"No. If you speak of this again there will be consequences," (Y/D) warns you with a small growl.

Despite his warning she tried her best to begin spreading the secret about her country's rulers. She would publish anonymous articles in the paper claiming that the leaders of her country were century old vampires, even revealing a few names of some nobles that were vampires as well. Soon people began to ask questions and her parents were forced to make a statement.
