Y/N's POV
Arriving in a remote village in Siberia, landing the Maurader onto a wide enough space for the ship to land on before opening the landing gears and making contact on the snowy ground. I looked at the weather charts on the navigational systems and it was below freezing.
We all strapped ourselves up in our jackets and survival gear that we need to survive the harsh winter outside of the shuttle. Opening the landing hatch we were met with the strong howling winds, we slowly step down onto the snow before looking at the village.
The people were wearing thick clothing to keep themselves warm and some vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and other goods. Not wanting to waste any time, we enter the village and many people were glancing at us before continuing with their business.
"Any ideas where to look?" Yeji asked me.
"Christopher said that our best bet would be the village chief. He knows everything about the wolf pack and the people have been living with them for thousands of years." I answered her.
She nodded and we walked to the main hut that likely housed what the village chief was looking for but right as we are about to enter the hut the guards stopped us before asking us about our business here.
Explaining to them about our mission, they let us in, inside of the hut was a campfire in the middle along with other ancient decorations like dreamcatchers and log benches that surround the fire.
On the small chair was the chief himself, he greeted us before telling us to take a seat on the logs. It's quite warm and cozy in here.
"So, what brings you all here?" He asked us.
"We're looking for the Werewolf pack? Any ideas where to look for them?" I asked him and he deeply sighed.
"Young man, if I were you, I'd leave because looking for those werewolves is very unwise besides the harsh winter and predators lurking in the forests. People that were foolish enough to do so were never seen again." He explained to us but it wasn't a satisfying answer.
"We thank you for your concern, but we need to find them. You see, there's this radical mafia organization known as the Crimson Dawn and we need their help." I replied to him but he shook his head.
"It's still a foolish idea. Even if the Werewolves agree to help you there are the Lycans you need to worry about and they tear their victims apart while they're still alive. Even Count Dracula was terrified of them." He warned us.
After arguing and presenting valid evidence to convince him for at least 15 minutes or so, he finally gives in and tells us that the Werewolf pack is living in the deep woods of the East Siberian Taiga.
Thanking him for the information, we board the shuttle and I start up the engines before taking off. Setting the course for East Siberian Taiga I scanned the area in advance to scan for any signs of the Crimson Dawn but there were none which is a good sign that we beat them to it.
Landing in an open area surrounded by trees covered in snow, I opened the landing hatch we step outside and it was more freezing than it was in the village.
"I-I never expected it to be this cold," Sunwoo said while shivering and Yeji wraps a blanket around him to keep him warm.
"We need to get moving, it's the best way to warm ourselves up." She said to us and we nodded.
So forth, we hiked deep into the woods, so far there was nothing but trees and branches along with the snow. We could be hiking for days so thankfully we are prepared to camp overnight if we have to.
Persisting through the thick snow and the howling winds, we finally found what appears to be foot tracks of canines. Lowering my rangefinder to examine the footprints I found they were fresh.
"These footprints are fresh! They can't be too far!" I inform Yeji and Sunwoo.
"That's great! But let's hope they're Werewolves and not Lycans because we are at a great disadvantage." She replied to me.
Thus, we followed the foot tracks to see where they would lead but on the way, we were spooked out when we had found frozen skeletons laying against the trees and signs warning us about trespassing into their territory.
"That's going to make things complicated," Sunwoo mentioned while looking at the warning sign.
All of a sudden, we heard howling echoing in the distance and I heard footsteps running fast in the snow. Pointing my rifle swiftly to where the footsteps were coming from there was nothing there.
Next, we heard vicious growling that belongs of a giant wolf or canine-like animal. That's when we realized we were surrounded by giant wolfs growling and showing their sharp teeth designed to bite through flesh and bones.
"We've got big complications," I said while looking at the surrounding wolfs.
