Y/N's POV

Continuing to wait for Yeji to get back inside the caverns, Sunwoo decided to have some time for himself to think about what just happened and Bai is observing him from afar to make sure he was doing okay.

It was clear the Yaos were no demons because of how kind they are to us and I wouldn't mind if my son marries one of them if he wished but for now I think it's best if we don't worry about it.

It's been nearly an hour and still, Yeji hasn't come back which started to make me worried cause normally if we had an argument she'd be back by now but I guess it must've affected her more than the other times we've had disagreements.

Not wanting to bother Yeji in her private time, I figured it wouldn't hurt if I checked up on her, I went to the entrance of the cavern but Yeji was nowhere to be found. Looks like she wanted to be left alone.

Just as I was about to head back to the cavern I heard a blaster firing at me and I dodged it in time before it could hit me. Quickly getting behind cover and drawing out my rifle, I analyzed the forest to find no one there.

Strange. Looks like there was an assassin targeting my head, carefully, I proceeded into the forest to locate the hidden assassin but it was difficult with the tall trees blocking my visibility which makes it perfect for hunters that want to kill someone by stealth.

"Come out! I know you're out there!" I warned the assassin but I got no response.

Lowering my rangefinder, it activates heat vision for me to spot any targets by their heat signature, observing the surrounding trees, I spotted a figure wielding a sniper rifle but the strange part was that it was the same sniper rifle that Yeji uses.

The assassin fired a shot but I ducked behind a boulder before it could kill me, aiming my rifle at the assassin I opened fire and hit the branch causing the assassin to fall onto the dirt but whoever it was swiftly got behind cover from a tall tree.

Sunwoo's POV

Having thoughts about my Eomma acting rash towards Lady Bai and the Yaos clan, clearly, she was in the wrong because our main goal here is to form an alliance with them not start a war.

Look, I don't hate my Eomma because of this, I'm glad that she cares and protects me but I knew she couldn't keep on doing this forever because one day, I get to decide for my own life.

I guess that scares her the most, she believes that I'll never see her again if I marry a supernatural creature but that's totally not true because I did my homework on researching the marriage laws between humans and monsters.

According to Article IV... "No human shall be deprived of any interaction with their family or friends.". This article also has an effect on monsters too, I'm still allowed to see my parents whether or not my future wife likes it. I wish she thought more rationally.
