Aiden's POV

I could see her getting tensed when I said that, her eyes widened and she was fidgeting with her fingers.

Sophie nudged my arm so I looked at her.

"Sophie, don't you want to play with the new car I've bought you?" I asked her and she gasped, excitedly.

"Really? You bought me a car?"

"It's in your room." I told her.

"Will you play with me?" She asked and I looked at Nora.

"I'll be there in a few minutes princess." I told Sophie and she ran away to her room.

I turned to Nora, she gulped and looked around the room, trying to avoid looking at me.

"I'll go with her." She said, hurriedly trying to leave the room.

I held her arm and pulled her back as she tried to walk past me.

"You're not going anywhere." I told her and pushed her against the wall, holding her there.

"What do you want Aiden?" She asked me, trying to get out of my hold.

"What you were telling about your parents to Sophie.." I started and she looked down.

"When did this happen Nora? And how?.. Aria told me you moved out of your parent's home last week or so?" I asked her, confused.

She stopped struggling and looked at me. "I lied." She said simply.

"Why?"

"Because I didn't want to disturb anyone's lives, unlike you think I'm not an attention seeker." She said, making me grit my teeth.

See, this is how she infuriates me. And then I loose control over what I want to say and do.

But not now, I want to know the whole truth.

"Tell me Nora, when did this happen?" I asked her again, trying to compose myself.

"You want to know?" She yelled, pushing me away.

"You want to know when my parents died, I'll tell you." She said. "Remember when you asked me where I was that one night? When you thought I was cheating on you." She continued and I just looked at her, said nothing.

"That night I was abducted in my home and I watched my parents get murdered in front of me." She said and my eyes widened.

"W...what?" I stuttered.

"Yes Aiden, my parents died that day, three years ago. Even you pushed me away because of a damn picture. I was all alone, I called you, texted you but you blocked me. I have cried myself to sleep every single night since then." I was shocked by what she said.

Everything I said to her, did to her, was coming back to hit my head like bricks.

"I didn't want you to know, I didn't want to tell you because I didn't know if you would believe me or still believe that fucking picture over me." She said, and I shook my head.

"No no please don't say that Nora." I went towards her but she moved backwards.

"I'm sorry Nora." I told her  sincerely.

"No no Aiden, you don't get to say that after so many years." She said, breaking my heart.

"I'm sorry." I didn't know what else to say. I moved towards her and placed my hand against her cheek softly.

She shook her head. "No Aiden, you're three years too late."

"I should go check on Sophie." She said, meekly pushing me away. Wiping her tears she walked out of the room.

I just stood there, not knowing what to do, trying to process what I just got to know.

She's been through so much. And I wasn't there with her. I should've been there for her.

I deserve her hate.

I was so blinded by jealousy that I couldn't even realise what I was doing. And now when I did, it's already too late.

I went out of the house and drove to Kevin's place. I rang the bell and he opened immediately.

"Hey bro, sup." He gave me a yuck side hug.

"Why are you here, so out of the blue?" He asked me, as I seated myself on his couch.

"I fucked up Kevin, big time." I told him and he asked me to explain what I was saying.

Then I spent the following few minutes explaining everything Nora had told me.

"Oh God, you really messed up pretty boy." He said and I groaned, rubbing my hands on my face.

"I know! You don't need to tell me that additionally." I told him and he chuckled, sitting beside me.

"I don't know what to do bro." I told him, sincerely, because I didn't.

"What don't you know Aide? You need to make her forgive you, you know?" He said and shrugged, as if it's the easiest thing to do.

"I already told her I'm sorry, but she just walked away." I informed him.

"And do you think one sorry would be enough?" He mocked me and I glared at him. "You need to show her you're actually sorry and are making efforts to get her forgiveness. Understand?" He asked me and I nodded.

"But what do I do?" I asked him dumbly.

He groaned. "She was not my ex. You should know her better. You need to figure out a way Aide no one can help you." He said.

"Hmm" I simply replied.

"Okay now, want a drink?" He asked and I nodded.

Really needed one.

Nora's POV

"And then me and mommy went to grandma and grandpa, I had so much fun, grandma always tells me stories and grandpa gives me many kinds of sweets. I love them." Sophie was telling me about when they stayed at her grandparents' house because her dad went out of town for business.

Little children talk a lot, don't they.

But that's what shows the sign of their purity, they have no filter whatsoever. They just speak out what they want without worrying about anything or anyone.

But we can't do that, we need to think about every single person whom you're speaking to, before saying anything.

And I don't know what happened to me today, I blurted out everything to Aiden.

He looked so guilty, I almost gave in when he told me he was sorry. But he needs to realise he's three years too late.

I sighed as I remembered our conversation. I just know it isn't going to end here, plus now that we're working at the same place.

Ugh. It's going to be so awkward.

I just hope he doesn't bring up this conversation ever again, but as I said, I know he will. What if he apologizes to me again?

What should I do? Should I forgive him? But he gave me so much pain. How can I so easily give in?

I should just ignore him, one day he'll get tired and he won't ever come up to me again. That's it.

Perfect.
