Maddie's POV:

"Maddison?" Someone said. "Maddie?" The person repeated.

"Umm, yes?" I quickly got up, pulling the blanket a little over my chest, realizing I really didn't have clothes on, just a tank top and some small shorts. Luke stood there at the door.

"Oh, um, breakfast is ready." Luke, pointed to the direction downstairs, then made his way down. I got up fast, putting my slippers on and making my way to the bathroom. After I showered I put on some clothes.

In front of elders I was really possessive about my clothes, so I wore a long skirt up to my feet, and a t-shirt. Then I pulled my hair into a bun and left my room.

"Good morning." I smiled.

"Good morning dear!" Andrew yelled.

"Good morning sweetheart." Liz asked me to call her mother so I guess I'll be calling her that.

"How are you all?" I asked, pulling out a chair and sitting down. I got the plate and put eggs and bacon in.

"We're fine. How are you dear?" Mother asked.

"I'm fine." I smiled again.

I glanced at Luke who was really doing nothing except staring at his plate.

"Luke, are you okay?" Mother asked.

"Wha-- oh, yeah I'm fine. I'm getting late for school, I'll see you guys later." He quickly got up and started to leave.

"Luke wait." Liz stopped.

"Yes mum?" He stopped and turned around.

"Can you please take Maddie too?" He then widened his eyes, because we only had time alone rarely.

"Umm, sure." He said, walking out the door.

"Okay, goodbye! Have a great day!" I waved at the Hemmings.

"You too honey! Be safe!" Uncle Andrew called out.

Making my way upstairs, I smiled.

-

We finally got to school, with a long drive of silence, and I made my way to my best friend. She was moving out to another country, France. I was too jealous of her, living in California was starting to get boring.

"I'm going to miss you so much, Maddie." She looked at me, tears forming her eyes.

"Then don't go." I said back. It was her last day and I could not imagine one day without her.

"I wish. Love you, bye!"

"Bye."

-

Class was getting boring. Since I was in all AP classes, I was smartest and highest in school. The former nerd. Yeah, coming with Luke to school was kind of weird but it's not like I didn't like it.

The day went on, me eating my lunch in the library as usual, because no one wants me sitting at their tables. I started walking home, when I saw a car pull next to me.

"Wanna hop in?" Luke asked, with an expression that made it look like I was going to happily say yes.

"No, I'm walking home."

"I see that."

"Then why bother to ask?" I said harshly, then moving on. He kept pulling his car to match my speed.

"Just come on. Stop being such a -" then he paused like he realized who I was.

"Stop being such a what, huh? How the fuck are you treating me right now? I'm not your fucking slave so you can take your shitty ass car away from my goddamn face before I start ripping yours apart." I pointed out, startling Luke with wide eyes.

"I'm sorry, I just -"

"You just what huh? No. Don't even talk to me." I said starting to walk home. I made my way inside when I reached it, Luke went off to his friends house for something.

I met up with Andrew and we walked outside in the lawn until it was around late night.

"Hey, Maddie?" Uncle Andrew asked.

"Yes?" I answered.

"A-are you happy?" He patted my back.

I didn't answer.

"Maddie..?" He asked

"Uncle Andrew, what kind of question is that? Do you even see the way Luke looks at me? I understand that were married, but I mean, can't he like show some affection to me? I understand that I'm not as rich as him. I understand that he is a lot hotter than I am. But do I really get deserved to be treated this way? I just want him to look at me. Look at me in the eye, once. Then I'll show him what it feels like to be loved. I don't care about your money, house, clothes, or beauty. It will only be me and him."

I quickly got up, and made my way upstairs to my room. Our room. Mine and Lucas Hemmings.

-

Luke's POV:

It was getting pretty late from the band practice today, and so I went home telling all the guys.

"I'm hitting home mates" I told them all, "parents are probably waiting for me."

"And your girlfriend" Ashton added.

I hadn't told any of them about me and Maddie's relationship yet, so they all thought I was just going out with her.

"Oh yeah, her too."

-

I drove into the drive-thru of my house, seeing the front lawn lights open. I went to go check who it was - oh, Maddie and dad. I started walking away until I heard some conversation.

By the end of that confession, I was shocked. She was not who I thought she was. I knew she was telling the truth - there were tears falling out of her eyes.

Quickly I got back to my room, taking off my leather jacket and putting it on the bed. How cruel could I have been to not even see the real Maddie in my eyes?

Soon enough, the door creaked open.

"Oh, hi." She said, closing the door.

"Hey, where were you?" I asked her, making up my expressions.

"I was downstairs with Uncle Andrew."

I took off my shirt, not knowing what Maddie must be doing at the moment. But when I did glance at her, she was staring at me like I was burning someone.

"Are...you okay?" I asked her.

"Huh...yeah...I'm fine." She blushed, then I realized she was looking at my body.

Oh, stupid me.

"You'll get some later." I smirked, putting my night shirt on.

"What?" She furrowed her eyebrows.

I laughed. "Nothing. Go to sleep." I motioned her to the other side of me.
