My face and name was known locally, the pretty rich fashionable it-girl associated with guys who ran blocks and bricks. I used my breakup as an opportunity to rebrand and start over. I had put out a few songs, and utilised my brothers and family friends friendships with producers and other artists, but worked closest with an engineer I went to school with Jaxon. He was a couple of years older than me, but a close friend of my brother and behind his big bro persona, I knew he liked me the day he met me. He would always ask for my number but I would laugh him off and tell him I was already in a relationship with my ex, Jordan. He didn't care about that, or Jordan and laughed at me for dragging my feet with the music.
We didn't speak much after we finished secondary school, but reconnected at a house party, after I left Jordan behind and looked forward to developing my career.
" you could blow"
" swear-"
" yeah- I swear-"
" modelling I can see but I don't know about music anymore-"
" course... you just gotta make videos for your music - it will help with your modelling"
" yeah - I hope so-"
" can't hope in this life, just plan and execute it Lylee "
" it's not that easy-"
" okay so what do you need?"
" like music or?-"
" music, help writing,-" the truth was I needed to recapture my creativity, and my confidence
" just a little writers block but I'll be okay -"
" I'm going to film one in New York-"
" I remember you would always be the be singer in assemblies and choir-" we were friendly since school but also never really had any reason to not be. Everyone thought I liked him as he openly liked him but it was never the case.
" really- Amberlie has a pretty voice-" I shadily mentioned his ex, and a singer who I hadn't seen since school but we weren't close enough for me to know if she was still in the picture.
" she hates me now-"
" well... what happened...-"" you know what happened-"
I didn't but guessed as much. He was a man, a flirt, tall dark and handsome. So capable of having any girl he wanted in reality.
" she got pregnant, and I wasn't ready -" it was deeper than I thought.
" Damn, that's deep but I get it-"
We were friends, I mean he flirted but I always kept our talks about music or my relationship with Jordan, and how much people speculated behind our backs. There was a lot of things he would say, that let me know he loved a lot about me beyond music. It was normal for guys to look and flirt, and I just went with it as he never made a move on anything. Now we were all grown up, I was working my way up at Chanel, through a family friend taking me under her wing, as he was a professional engineer and producer and becoming successful as we all knew he would.
