XXVIII: Sharing Locations

"Where is Mateo?" I was surprised to see Iris inside his office. "He had a few things to take care of with Bianca's fiancée." She says looking up at me in the doorway from the computer screen.

I was dressed to meet with Dinah and Erin at her house so we could find a late birthday outfit for her.

"You look nice." She compliments, "Thank you." I say and she lets out a short sigh.

"Listen I don't think I was the nicest to you. I honestly never expected you to stick around long since my baby daddy isn't the relationship type. I get mad at him sometimes for lacking in areas, sharing a child and all....but when I really reflect on it he's a good dad. You coming ruined a lot of plans for me though."

The ending caught me off guard and my smile faltered.

"Sorry?" I was hoping I misheard her but I know what I heard.

"I know I'm going to sound bitchy but there's still a lot you don't realize. Being with a Don sounds all peaches and butterflies until you witness things you don't like. You seem like a understanding girl but he won't let you leave so easily. You know too much, you know his name, what he looks like, you know he has a daughter and you're close with his sister. These are people that have a target on their back, just like me and just like you if they knew we were close to him. But I'm in so deep that I felt my best bet was to give him another child...a boy. Just for extra security."

I wasn't sure why she was saying all of this, what was her point?

"I guess you could be the Donna but it'll change you. Do you know what it's like to hold someone's life in the palm of your hands? I thought I would be that for Enzo, he gave his everything to impress his father. So you could imagine how much of a disappointment it was for him and his uncle chose Mateo over him." She says and I was now confused.

Bianca said Enzo refused the position. Did she make that up or is Iris making this up?

"They both worked hard, endured a lot just for one of them to get picked and both to still suffer mentally to this day. But this is probably just fun for you, a little ride on the wild side." Iris goes to leave the office stopping when she's right beside me.

"I was the same way."

"What a fucking bitch." Dinah frown's, I had told her and Erin very discreetly what Iris said without exposing Mateo's job.

"I mean maybe she's right-." , "Nah that bitch is jealous. Just because she went through some drama with him doesn't mean it'll be the same with you. She's trauma dumping." Erin's face is scrunched in disgust.

"And why should you listen to someone who cheated on her boyfriend with his first cousin?" Dinah piggybacks, I hated that I had to keep away major details because I couldn't feel comfortable with their advice telling half the story.

"She probably feels like you're the reason she doesn't have a secure spot. I mean why else would she try to talk you out of marriage with him. I don't even blame her sis, look at your man." Erin pops her gum.

"You put on a little weight chica" Dinah's hand ran over my ass and pinched it, I yelped a little surprised. "I've been eating more, three meals a day. A lot of pasta." We were currently at the mall.

I already picked out an outfit to wear for tomorrow from the first store we made it to. "He's a little short no?" Dinah asks Erin as she showed us the latest man in her dm.

"Dinah you an I both know I don't give a fuck about what a guy looks like." Erin says and it was true she was extremely attractive and on the tall side but she was all about the money. Mateo had dropped me off at Dinah's house earlier and Erin immediately praised me for "pulling" a rich man who was actually good looking.

"That is true." Dinah says typing on her cellphone. Erin was scarred from her broke ex, always calling her "big money" and borrowing from her.

I got a ping on my phone and it's Bianca.

BiBi 💄💋: Where are you?! I really needed an alibi, Mateo's making me have lunch with Santi 😒.

Me: I'm with my best friend, it's her birthday weekend. Sorry x.

I locked my phone and put it in my purse as we made our way into the food court. We decide to eat at Qdoba.

"So Eli, is it good?" Erin wiggles her eyebrows and eats one of her chips. I give her a confused look and Dinah giggles.

"It's not my first time eating Qdoba Erin." I say and she groans out loud. "No bitch, I meant the dick." My eyes widened and I adjust in my seat.

I look at Dinah for help, Erin is always so straightforward. "Well?" Dinah says wanting to know just as bad.

"Well—yeah. He's honestly amazing at it." Erin squeals in excitement. "Is he a good size? I mean it's not always about that but there's no way he looks like that and isn't packing." Is this what friends talked about? Well I guess Dinah is a bit open about her sex life, and Erin never holds back.

"I-I didn't measure him but I'd guess about 8 1/2- 9 inches." , Dinah looked at me concerned.

"What?" , "Baby you're taking dick that big and flinch at the word itself?" She laughs and I shrug. "Neal has been asking about you, says you haven't answered any of his calls." Erin teases, I'd honestly forgotten about him.

"I haven't received any calls from him." I laugh.

"Well you'll see him tomorrow at the club for my party." Dinah wiggles her eyebrows jokingly.

After a few more hours of shopping we decided to head back to Dinah's house and turn on a show. Erin mentions there being a new dancer at the club named Sam and she's been taking all of her customers.

"I'm not jealous, she is amazing and a natural. I can't believe she is self taught." , "Is she dancing tomorrow?" I ask and she shrugs.

"I think you'd like her she's new to New York too. She's from Georgia." Dinah adds. My mind wanders to Iris again.

Why would she need to give him a son...for security? I then wondered if she was ever making advances towards Mateo whenever I wasn't around. Would he get her pregnant if he found out my situation?

"You okay El?" Erin asks and I snap out of my thoughts. "I need help." My voice was low but I knew they heard me.

I'm really excited for Kenzi's story, it may already be my favorite. I am excited to give you guys insight on their lives. They will answer questions not answered in this book and let you guys in on the past more including Iris, his sister and father.
