A complete silence...
That was what Nishalini and Dharsh facing then...
"Is this some kind of prank?" Arjun who recovered from the awkward silence questioned.
"Does it look like one?" Udhay nudged him.
Gee and Pavi sighed at the same time and saw eachother for a minute before grinning widely.
"Yaaayyyy" they both shouted out of nowhere, making Udhay and Arjun flinch.
"An interesting story needs some twist to make it more interesting, right Gee?" Pavi asked.
"Right...!!" Gee answered while they both stepped towards the kid who was hiding behind Shalini.
Gee and Pavi knelt down before Dharsh and asked "What's your name, kittu?"
Dharsh went more behind Shalini playing with her dupatta. "Dharsh..." Shalini answered.
"Awww... It's so cute, just like you" Gee cooed him.
"Go and get fresh up. I'll prepare something for you to eat" Jeevitha, who was still in shock said.
Nishanth who understood the situation and his Mom's mind, nodded his head. He grabbed the hands of his wife and Dharsh, and climbed the stairs.
After they went inside their room, Jeevitha and Shakthi sighed staring at eachother. Jeevitha sat on the sofa and Shakthi mimicked her actions.
"Do you have any problem with having that kid-"
"Of course not" Jeevitha cut off Shakthi's sentence.
"Thank God...!! I was tensed seeing your reaction. Why did you keep your face like that?" He slapped on her shoulder.
"I was just... Playing. They should do such big things after discussing with us nah? What if they take some wrong decisions?" She pouted rubbing her shoulder.
"Shalini may think childish. But coming to your son... Nope, he won't take wrong decisions!" He smiled at her, feeling proud of his son.
"They must be nervous thinking about us" Pavi said and her dad nodded his head positively.
Jeevitha started climbing stairs and others followed her. They reached Nishanth and Shalini's room. Shakthi was about to knock on the door but stopped abruptly hearing their voices from inside.
"I guess... They don't like me..." Dharsh trailed off.
Jeevitha's face fell hearing the sadness in that kid's voice. Shakthi patted on her shoulder.
"No Dharsh, not at all... Trust me..." Shalini tried to convince him.
"They like you!" Nishanth said confidently.
"How are you that much sure?" Dharsh pouted with teary eyes.
"Because my parents are so kind hearted people. Ages ago, they even took a child from garbage and took care of it as their own child" Nishanth sighed.
Shalini frowned at his sentence while Dharsh was shocked as well as surprised. On the other side of the door, the whole family was confused as hell.
"Who are you talking about?" Shalini voiced out her thoughts.
"It's Pavi..." He sighed as if he was confessing a parama ragasiyam (An archetypal secret). And he continued, "She was taken from a garbage can as a 8 months old baby" he pinched his eyes to stop his imaginary tears.
Shalini looked at him like he was a freaking idiot. Others, who were waiting outside the door, tried their best to stifle their laughs. And the exceptional case was Pavi. Her eyes were emitting lasers which could burn a human alive in one glare.
She kicked the door as she couldn't control herself from beating her dearest brother.
The trio stared at the door with wide eyes. As an impact, the door burst opened and the others entered in the room.
Pavi directly went near Nishanth and grabbed his hair in her fist dragging him near the couch. She landed him and started beating him with the cushions. The parents and friends of the Bro-Sis duo looked at them with a knowing look. Dharsh, who was new to all these, was standing there silently, behind Shalini. He saw Jeevitha who just turned towards him. He immediately averted his eyes.
Jeevitha quickly went near him and took him in her hands. He was shocked to see her doing this. He thought that she doesn't like him. He knew that he was completely wrong when she sat on the bed with him on her lap and kissed his cheeks.
He slowly started to smile. Jeevitha smiled at him back. "Dharsh... You have such a sweet name..." She said slowly, making him smile widely.
"Thank you" his earlobes became pinkish. And by that, they all welcomed their new family member. Dharsh was really happy to have a family like them.
Later...
Shalini was standing in the terrace, staring at the stars. Suddenly, a pair of arms were wrapped around her waist. She leaned back on her husband.
"Is anything wrong?" He asked in his deep voice.
She shook her head as no, in response. "Then?" He asked again.
"I was just thinking about..." she trailed off, "dunno what" she pouted.
"Haha... You forgot what you were thinking?" He let out a laugh making her pout more. "You were thinking about..." He thought for a second before continuing, "Leaving behind Dharsh here... And about our new home and your new college in Bangalore... Then you might also imagined about our romances in our new home..." He laughed at the end and in return, he earned a slap on his arm.
"You are the one who always do that, not me. I only thought about Dharsh and Bangalore" Shalini said.
"Ok fine... Let me clear your mind. Dharsh will be very fine here with our family. There is no need to worry about him. He easily mingled with them. Did you see him playing with Pavi and Dad?" He asked.
She nodded with a smile.
"And about Bangalore... I arranged everything we need there. So no need to worry about that too" he rested his chin on her head. She smiled heartily. She was really happy for having him beside her. Feeling his warmth till the very end was all she could ask for.
"Kullachi..." She snapped out of her thoughts and looked up at him.
"You were thinking about me, right?" He smirked.
She rolled her eyes shaking her head and said, "Only in your wild dreams, Senior"
