"you're doing it wrong." was the sentence most commonly heard from the council room since the morning, two well-known voices attracting attention along with the fact that they were the primary faces of the school (along with dino of course).

yoon jeonghan sighed, running a hand through his long blonde hair as choi seungcheol clicked his tongue, clearly aggravated by the princess.

"well, i wouldn't be doing it wrong if you just told me how you wanted this to be sorted," seungcheol said, suppressing the urge to toss the papers onto the ground and to set them on fire because god forbid he work another second with the epitome of a protagonist that was yoon jeonghan. "trust me blondie, i'm willing to do anything to spend less time with you so the faster we get this done, the better for me."

"that's one thing we have in common then isn't it?" jeonghan puffed his cheeks out, holding his hair up and mentally scolding himself for not bringing a hair tie along - he was always so prepared but the one time he forgot to do the bare minimum was also the time that the aircon refused to function.

with one hand holding his hair up and the other sifting through the papers, seungcheol couldn't help but stop and stare at the boy, the afternoon sun perfectly shining onto his annoyingly shiny blonde hair the very moment he decided to look up.

for all it was worth, seungcheol could admit to himself that yoon jeonghan truly was a sight for sore eyes, his mind suddenly remembering the photos of jeonghan in the groupchat.

closing his eyes for a moment, he tried to remember a simple spell he had learnt and thankfully, a hair tie appeared in his palm, seungcheol letting out a small smile at his mini achievement.

slowly, he stood up from his position on the floor, careful to not step on any documents before standing behind jeonghan and gingerly trying to tie his hair for him, catching the blonde boy off guard and causing him to abruptly turn around and catch his hand, the papers he was holding flying off in the process as his hair was let down once more, the hair tie still between seungcheol's fingers.

with wide eyes, jeonghan stared at seungcheol, the villain freezing in his spot. "what do you think you're doing?" jeonghan inquired, quickly taking his hand off of seungcheols' wrist and looking around at the papers that had flown away from his grasp. his eyes trailed around the room until eventually, he saw the golden hair tie trapped between seungcheols' fingers. "i can tie my own hair-"

"well, it's my hair tie-"

"why on earth would you have a hair tie?" taken aback by his sudden question, seungcheol ran through a million responses in his head and when all of them failed to hide the fact that he had created one solely for jeonghan, he tossed the hair tie at jeonghan who almost failed to catch it.

jeonghan stared at the hair tie and at seungcheol who was making his way back to where he sat before acting as though nothing had happened. "quit staring blondie," he said, jeonghan immediately looking away. "we should focus on this or we'll never get it over with." jeonghan hummed in agreement, picking up the papers he had dropped and looking through all the details again.

after a few hours of silence, seungcheol suddenly stood up and made his way to the door, jeonghan finally snapping out of his deep focus and stopping him before he could leave.

"i'm just going to the toilet blondie," he explained, grabbing his phone from the table and making his way out.

once he was gone, jeonghan let his hair down and sighed, staring out of the window and seeing how dark it had gotten, realisation dawning on him that he had spent hours with the person that hated him with a passion.

as he absentmindedly played with the hair tie, he found himself wondering what it was that made choi seungcheol so adamant on his hatred towards him when he was capable of showing a different side. but no matter how much he racked his brain for an answer, he always came up blank, accepting the fact that maybe life had planned for it to be that way.

minutes passed without seungcheol and although they weren't speaking to each other, jeonghan could feel his absence, his focus waning with every minute that passed. so, putting his own pride aside, he sent him a message only to be met with a cold reply which redirected him back to their groupchat that was filled with nothing more than nonsense half the time.

jeonghan
can you tell this story while walking back?

lowkey
jeonghan are you missing his presence ;)

his fingers lingered above his keyboard, instinctively wanting to type 'no' but before he could, the door slid open, seungcheol walking in as though he hadn't been gone for nearly twenty mintues.

but before jeonghan could berate him, from the middle of the courtyard shone a bright beam which jeonghan had only seen in their books before. his gaze landed on seungcheol almost immediately, the boy wobbling on the spot before falling onto the ground.

"what the..." his words trailed off, jeonghan rushing to his side and letting his head rest against his shoulder as he struggled to breathe.

"you'll be fine," jeonghan said, already texting in the groupchat and letting woozi know where they were. "you'll be fine cheol." the nickname slipped out but in seungcheols' state, it barely registered in his mind, the slightly older boy holding onto the material of jeonghans' shirt.

and once woozi arrived, the unlikely duo carried seungcheol back to their empty room and placed him on the bed.

jeonghan had never seen any antagonists room before but the darkness of it all shocked him immensely.

"take a picture while you're at it," woozi scoffed, heading back to his own corner of the room and watching as jeonghan hovered around seungcheol. "if you want to stay for a while because you're worried, go ahead — i'm going to go find jun," woozi said, grabbing his keys and leaving the pair alone.

jeonghan didn't know what he was doing.

he had no idea what caused him to stay but he did anyways, sitting by the head of seungcheols' bed and hugging his legs to himself as he whispered a song, his hair glowing and lighting up the darkness of their room.
