"where the hell are the council heads?" irene asked, taeyong shrugging as he looked around, not catching sight of anyone from the council heads' former class. "you don't think something bad happened to them right?"

jihyo, who was sat behind the pair, leaned forward. "didn't they say they found the book of tales?"

"yea but-" the mic feedback interrupted taeyong, the three student council members directing their attention onto the stage as their headmaster cleared his throat and put on a bright smile.

as per norm, he greeted the hall and went through the general updates like how the pool table had been fixed and how they had added new tables in the library.

"...but, it has come to my attention that some students aren't keen on having the simulation this week." taeyong looked at irene, the latter shooting daggers at the old man on stage. "as such, i will postpone the simulation closer to the date of the actual signing ceremony!"

murmurs arose from the crowd, a mix of emotions ranging from happiness to disappointment being heard from all corners of the hall. but the most prominent feeling of them all was confusion — why did he suddenly decide to change the date of something he previously was so adamant on?

taeyong frowned, looking down at his shadow on the ground, the replica of him unmoving just like he was.

until the shadow shifted, waving at him and nearly causing him to topple backwards in his seat. "what the-"

irene slapped his shoulder. "stay still-"

"the shadow moved!" he whispered, the shadow remaining calm and changing target to irene, waving at her instead before pointing at the headmaster on stage and making a cross with its' arms.

irene bent down, pretending to tie her shoelace as the shadow rose slightly to inform her of what had happened to the others.

and when it was done, her glare hardened. so much so that taeyong felt as if she was placing curses on the headmaster.

"they're in there," irene said, giving a pointed look at the abnormally bright silver necklace hanging from his neck.

"he trapped them in the book of tales."

when jun woke up, all he could see were mirrors. from floor to ceiling, every inch of his room was nothing but mirrors.

"what the heck?" he muttered, standing up and walking around the desolate space. "hao? vernon? dino? anyone?" he yelled, his voice echoing but receiving no response.

as his fingers trailed the mirrors, a loud crack was heard, juns' breath immediately getting stuck in his throat as he looked down and saw himself standing on a cracked glass floor.

"kill her."

a voice rang from above, the mirrors showing an image of a young girl he didn't know anything about.

"that's how you'll be the fairest of them all."

"i-i'm not killing anybody!" jun yelled, the floor surrounding him shattering and causing his legs to lose strength.

the image in the mirrors changed, now showing him on a cliff with a poison apple in hand.

"kill her or you'll die."

"i'm not a villain!" jun screamed, the floor further fragmenting as tears ran down his face. "i-i'm not hurting anybody!"

"you sure about that?" in his hands was the same red apple he was holding in that image, a faint purple glow surrounding it and indicating that he had been the one to make it himself.
