Spider-man: Fears End

Chapter 14: A Greater Responsibility.

Peter looks down at Harry's grave angry and rageful. "It's my fault. This power always comes with a cost." Peter says clenching his fist. "I'll never. Ever be Spider-man again." Peter walks out the symmetry and crawls up a building in an alley way to swing home. He lands on the balcony and Felisha greets him with a hug. Peter takes his mask off & looks at felisha with his face with dried blood all over his face. "Peter..." She says looking into his eyes rubbing his face. "I'm done being spider-man." Peter says, "I've caused too much hurt. Uncle Ben died, Harry died, and I almost lost you. I refuse to risk it anymore. If I lose you Felisha. I don't know what i'd do, I would never be able to forgive myself." Peter says with a raspy exhausted voice, Felisha grabs his chin and says, "Peter. Your powers are a gift, a blessing. That you share with the world and save them from the evils and of the danger of this world, you've been the light in the darkness people haven't seen. Don't stop being spider-man Peter. Just like Ben said. "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. Ben knew the sacrifice you'd have to make one day to be New York's savior. You changed my heart from a cat burglar to a hero. Do the right thing Peter, even if it hurts." She says pulling Peter in for a kiss as she holds him and then pulls away. "Let's get you cleaned up." She says as she removes his suit washing the blood off of it. She makes him shower and she stitches up his stomach while he groans, she apologizes and finishes the job. She puts bandages around his ribs and a bandage under his eye. "ow" Peter says, Felisha looks at him with a blank face "it's not gonna feel good you know. You have spider powers don't you?" She says giving him more stitches. "You're forgetting I'm half human." Peter pulls his shirt down and pulls his pants back up. Days go by and Peter catches up on his rest. He wakes up to a full breakfast in bed. "Felisha, you're way too good to me." Felisha smiles. "Oh I know." She says hugging him. Peter finishes his meal smiling. But then the radio goes off. "BREAKING NEWS THE SHOCKER HAS ALSO ESCAPED FROM PRISON! WHERE IS SPIDER-MAN." Peter rolls his eyes and turns it off "Oh now you need me." Felisha gives him the look of concern. "What?" Peter says, "I'm not going..." Felisha puts her hand on her hip & tilts her head. Peter grumbles "I'm going...". Peter suits up and pulls his mask down. Peter smirks under his mask. "I'm doing this for you Harry." He thinks to himself.
