Regulus allowed his feet to carry him wherever they wanted. His mind was racing. Thoughts about Barty, Sirius and James simultaneously attacking him all at once. He needed to see James. He couldn't see James. He wanted to talk to Sirius. He couldn't talk to his brother.

Regulus was so busy trying to calm his mind that he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. He hadn't even realized that he'd made it out of his common room until his body collided with another. He fell to the ground, his arms flailing out to catch himself. When he looked up, Regulus's blood ran cold.

"Woah, sorry about that. I didn't see you coming." Enzo said, holding his hand out to help Regulus off of the cold stone floor. Regulus hesitated for a moment before allowing his hand to slip into Enzo's. He was on his feet not a second later, his cold hand still intertwined with Enzo's warm and slightly larger hand.

Regulus quickly pulled back, clearing his throat. He gave Enzo a polite nod of appreciation and stepped around the older boy in hopes of avoiding starting a conversation. Enzo, on the other hand, had other plans.

"I heard that you and Potter broke up." Enzo called out to him before Regulus could get away. The Slytherin stopped in his tracks, whipping around to face the Ravenclaw. Regulus raised a single brow. "What's it to you?" He asked, his voice dripping in venom. Enzo remained completely unfazed by Regulus's cold stature.

"I'm here, you know, if you need someone to talk to. I you want a shoulder to cry on." Enzo smiled amicably, his voice warm and affectionate. It made Regulus feel sick. He hated when people were warm and affectionate with him. Unless if it was James, of course. "I'm fine. I don't need you." Regulus spat, once again turning to leave. Enzo caught his sleeve before he could. "Just... I know that things between us ended on a bad note, but we can still be friends Reg. I miss you, I miss having you in chess club and–"

Regulus scoffed, pushing Enzo off of him. "And nothing. Just because James and I broke up, doesn't mean that I'm going to come crawling back to you for comfort. We could have been friends, we were friends and you ruined that." Regulus snapped, glaring hard at Enzo. "Reg, I'm sorry. Just let me–"

Regulus rolled his eyes, walking away quickly before Enzo could stop him again. You'd think that he would have learned his lesson about watching where he was going, but unfortunately he didn't. He made it two minutes until he was bumping into another person. Regulus's arms shot out instinctively, trying to catch himself before he fell, but a pair of arms wrapped around his torso before he hit the ground.

Regulus looked up and sighed when he was met with the sight of Remus's chocolate coloured eyes. "You alright, Reg?" Remus asked, pulling Regulus upright. Regulus grunted, unable to meet Remus's eyes. "Fine." He mumbled, trying to keep his bitterness out of his tone. He didn't want Remus to think that he was angry with him.

Remus made a strange humming sound, his hands resting on Regulus's shoulders. "James is a mess too." The older boy whispered, smiling sadly. Regulus felt his whole body go slack, his head falling into Remus's chest. "I hate this." He whispered softly. "I hate not seeing him. I hate being away from him for this long. It's not fair." Regulus sobbed, shoulders shaking in Remus's embrace.

"We all miss you. James and Sirius especially. We've been scheming up some ways of how to kidnap you from your common room." Remus admitted, earning a strangled laugh from Regulus. They stood in the darkened hallway for a few more minutes, hugging and whispering to each other. After a while, Regulus sighed and pulled back. He wiped his tears away and smiled at Remus a bit forcefully.
