Ranboo's Lullaby

He doesn't have many memories of his life before the DreamSMP. He didn't know who his family were, if they were still alive, where he came from, how old he was, nothing.

And yet...

Some things he never forgot, like the warmth of a fire, the feeling of his leather-bound memory books, and the songs that were sung from his mother tongue.

Limbo was...odd. There was nothing. There was no sky, no ground, no stars, no color. It reminded him of static, oddly enough. He imagined that this was what static looked like, with how grainy this void was.

"Your sleep it's been restless, nightmares relentless
And you feel like you're on your own"

The voice was soft, motherly, almost. It reminded him of being a young boy, where his mother would sing him a lullaby before putting him to bed.

He paused.

He had a memory?

Then, all of a sudden, his surroundings changed. Now, he was in a room. The walls were made of a yellowish-white stone, and the floor was made of an odd vibrant purple material. It reminded him of quartz, for some reason. The purple-tinted windows showed the staticky void outside.

The inside, however, was the most interesting part.

It was a nursery, that much was obvious. There was a small purple bed, just big enough for a toddler. There were various books and toys on the shelves, some of which he recognized from the library nearby the Syndicate room (Phil had taken him there a few times to help research but to no avail).

In front of the bed was a woman holding a toddler. She reminded him of an Enderman, but with more human features.

Most of the same features he has, he realized. Her eyes were more red than purple, and her canines were longer than a human, much like his own. She had long black hair that was tied in a messy ponytail, a crown akin to his own, elven ears like his, and a long deep magenta dress.

The toddler she held was dosing off to her lullaby. Ranboo paused when he realized that the toddler had to be him. He had to be, for they shared all the same traits, from their half and half hair to their multi-colored eyes.

"Blackouts they're constant, your days are despondent
And anxieties invade your brand new home"

Ranboo stood in front of her, and she looked up, looking at him dead in the eyes.

The toddler version of him disappeared, and she put a hand on his cheek. It was then that he realized he was crying, and she was wiping away the tears.

"But boy don't you cry, for it's been a long night
And the water will just hurt your eyes
Lulla-lullaby sleep softly tonight,
And know that the stars will stay shining bright"

Ranboo put his hand on the woman's—now he realized she was most likely his mother—and sobbed softly. "I'm sorry I don't remember you..."

She smiled softly.

"The moons many sides push and pull shift the tides
It's not broken for changing its tune
The world it is manic, you're stuck in a panic
But the burden shouldn't be all on you"
