Lena's pov;
(less than a month later)

Fuck it. Fuck everything. I'm so, so tired of giving my all to people who could never give a flying fuck about me. I don't understand. I trusted her. And when we had sex, it wasn't just to forget about all of my foolish problems. We actually made love, it was so pure. But screw her, I'm never making the mistake of falling inlove again. None of that matters anyway. I have a gala to attend later. I don't know how i'm supposed to do any of this. I can make it one hour without breaking down or drinking an entire bottle of whiskey. Kara Danvers ruined my fucking life.

I'm rushing all over the place, trying to make sure everything is set. I haven't even tended to my needs. I'm not even dressed! You see, i'll never have time to fall inlove, cause none of it's worth my time. I don't even have time for it. All that will happen is that they'll break my heart. Damnit, how did I fall inlove with her? Actually no, that's a dumb question. She's fucking perfect, and of course someone vulnerable like me would fall for her.

***third person pov***

Lena was walking down the hall, rushing as always. Everything was ready for the gala, Lena always made sure things were set. She was still stressing though. She had to go get dressed, and do her makeup and everything else that gave her anxiety.

(two hours later)
She had gotten dressed, but she was a wreck. She felt terrible, sick, unloved. Everything, every feeling, that a person would not want to feel. Then she heard a knock. "I'm busy." She said, her voice cracking. The door opened. Lena said again not looking up, "I said i'm b- get out. Get. out." She said once seeing it was Kara. "No, i'm not leaving you." Kara replied, going to sit down beside Lena.

Lena was going to scoot away but she just starting crying more. Once she had calmed down a little she said, "Kara you caused all of this. All of this pain. I never new I could hurt this much over a person. I was right to be afraid to admit that I was inlove with you. But it didn't do any good, you left me anyway. Why the hell are you even here. How did you know about my gala?" Lena finished. "Lena, i'm supergirl, I know everything. And i'm here because I want to be here for you. I'm so sorry I caused you all of this pain, I really am." Kara responded. "I want you to leave, Kara. You're just going to make everything worse. You know, if I were in your situation, I would've chose you, in a heartbeat. Because you mean the world to me, and nothing else matters but you. But you..."

"Lena- I left him. I gave him back my engagement ring and the wedding invitations- I threw those away. I told him- I told him that you, Lena, you're the love of my life and that I wouldn't want it any other way. And that if he loved me, he'd understand. I broke up with him, so I could be with you. But you deserve so much better than me. So I came here to tell you to follow your heart, and to make a beautiful family- and just succeed no matter what. Because you deserve all of that. And if you're happy, i'm happy." Kara finally finished. She held onto Lena's hand, then let go. She got up and headed towards the door.

"I don't want better." Lena began. "What?" Kara said turning around. Lena continued, "I don't want better. Because you're more than enough for me. In any world, i'd chose you, Kara Danvers." She finished. "Rao, I love you." Kara began to approach Lena again, sitting down beside her. Lena cupped Kara's face in her hands. "I missed you, so much. Please, i'm begging you never leave me again." Lena said. "I wont, I swear. But, baby, don't you have a gala to get to?" Kara asked and Lena nodded drying her tears. They both got up and Lena fixed herself up. "You look hot by the way." Kara remarked and Lena blushed. "You're showing cleavage, and i'm the one who looks hot?" Lena replied. "You're wearing a fucking suit. And you always look hot anyway. C'mon let's go."

They arrived in the ball room and it was Lena's time to speak. "You got this." Kara said to Lena before she walked up the stage. "Hi, thank you all for coming, I appreciate it. This is a fundraiser for the Luthor Children's Hospital. We are slowly- but surely trying to find a cure, for cancer." Lena stated and that got a gasp from the crowd. Lena chuckled and continued, "Yes, which is why we need your help. Donate what you can, while you can. Before I go, i'd like to introduce my fri- girlfriend, Kara Danvers." Lena said and smiled looking at Kara. Kara guessed she was supposed to walk up to the stage, and so she did.

She gave Lena a kiss on the cheek, to be 'professional' and gave her a hug. Once they had both gotten of the stage, they decided to get on the floor and slow dance. As they were dancing Kara leaned her head onto Lena's shoulder. "You make me weak and vulnerable, and i'm supergirl." Kara remarked. "I guess i'm special." Lena joked. "You really are, you mean everything to me, Lena Kieran Luthor."
