Fireworks [ A Josh Franceschi fanfic ]

*she just tollerates me for the sake of you guys*

"Matt!!" We arrived at the hospital just as Matt was being released. Turns out he fell over and hit his head on a bench and knocked himself out for a few hours, we were told it was nothing too serious. "Well here's a sight I never thought I'd see!" He called over as myself and Josh were walking side by side to the entrance. "I'm so glad you're okay mate, could've been a lot worse." Josh said and 'bro-hugged' Matt whilst I pulled him into a proper hug causing him to flinch a little. "Oh sorry!" I said as I realised his head must still be in pain. He laughed and hugged me again. "So how have you two been?" He asked casually smirking at me and I couldn't help but grin back at him, I was so glad he was okay. "Good thanks" I told him and Josh said the same. "no, I mean I'm glad you're good but I meant how are things between you two!" He said excitedly. "Is there something I'm missing?"I asked confused as to what Matt could mean. "Things are better I guess, I told her everything." Josh softly spoke leading to an awkward silence.

We ended up taking Matt back to Surrey with us after collecting his things from the hotel, he seemed delighted that Josh and I were getting on. "So Matt, you up for band practise tomorrow? I told Alexa she could come if you were up for it." Josh spoke and Matt grinned at me. "Definitely!! When am I not? Especially when Lexa is coming! Be warned though, you've already got passed our charming good looks, but once you hear us play, bam, you'll be in love with us." Matt dramatically spoke causing me to laugh at him hard. "Aw Matt, I'm so in love with you guys anyway!" I told him, laughing as I did so.

We arrived back at my house at 23:45 and I was extremely tired. "Bye guys, hope your head feels better soon Matt!" I kissed Matt on the cheek before he told me to wait. "If you don't mind, can I stay here tonight Lexa? I need to talk to you about things.." He said subtly. "Sure thing Matthew! See ya Franceschi." We walked in through the front door and Matt placed his things on the sofa and made himself some cereal as this was practically his second home now and weirdly he liked eating cereal at night. "So what did you want to talk about?" I asked and sat next to him in the kitchen.
"You and Josh actually..."
"What about us?" I replied wondering where an earth he was going with this.
"Erm well he said he told you everything so I assume he told you how he feels about you?"
"He told me some things yeah, but that doesn't mean anything right? I mean guys with looks like him always seem to get whatever girls they want." I replied, not quite sure what else to say. "So he didn't ask you on a date?!" Matt almost shouted in surprise. I was equally as surprised and had no idea what he meant. "What? No, we only just sorted things out between us" I told him defensively and we left it at that.

That night I lay awake thinking about what Matt said, trying to work out why he would expect Josh to ask me on a date. I definitely had strong feelings for Josh, ever since I met him, but I just wasn't sure if they were good or bad feelings yet.

"Wake up sleepyhead!!" I woke to the sound of Matt in my room as pushed me out of my bed and into the floor, and then jumped on my bed with his legs crossed and arms behind his head. "Ay that wasn't nice" I pouted and stood back up. "Well we have to be at Max's in 40 minutes and it takes ten minutes to get there so you have half an hour to get ready, that should be enough time." He said please with himself that he'd managed to work it out which made me laugh a little. "Sure thing Matthew!" I smiled and grabbed my clothes from my wardrobe. A black pair of skinnies and a dark grey, oversized tee with my black and white converse and grey beanie that Matt had given me. Making sure Matt turned away while I got changed, I pulled on my clothes as quickly as I could an rushed into the bathroom to do my makeup. I didn't wear much makeup, a thin layer of foundation, eyeliner, mascara and a little blusher. "You need a jacket too, it's cold outside." Matt told me as I walked back into my room and he was playing something on his phone. "Oh err" I mumbled and walked to the wardrobe where I had no jumpers due to the fact they were all in the wash. "Here," Matt threw me one out of his bag and I smiled in thanks. I opened up the dark hoodie to read 'you me at six' on the front which made me giggle to myself as I pulled it over my head.

"Alexa!!" Max, Chris and Dan called in sync. I gave them all hugs and they lead me to their garage where they practise. I sat down on the small, two seated sofa just before Matt and Josh came into the room talking, I heard my name at one point so I couldn't help but listen to what they were saying.
"Just talk to her Josh!"
"No! I don't know how, and she doesn't even like me, she just tolerates me for the sake of you." I heard Josh reply and my heart sank. I decided to go and talk to him so he wouldn't feel that way. "Hey Josh," I smiled innocently and he grinned back, not meaning to seem so pleased. "Hey Alexa" he smiled again which made me giggle to myself, scrunching my nose as I did so. "So I was thinking, I've gotten to know the other guys pretty well over the last two weeks, and we have actually got that assignment in next week, we should get to know each other more? It's just a thought but-" Josh could tell I was rambling so he cut me off. "I'd love to" he smiled and I went to sit back down on the sofa ready to hear them play.
