A/N sorry this has taken a while to write! Kind of a lot happens in this chapter but I hope you all like it anyway! Let me know in the comments anything that you think should happen in this story and I'll try my best to include it!:)
"Mum" I breathed and she tried to push her way through the doors of the flat. She smelt strongly of alcohol and was stumbling a little in each step. "What are you doing here?" I pushed her back out of the door and Josh followed with a confused expression, Maddy also followed. How did she find me? I was in another country. The extent she'll go to ruin my life.. "I just wanted to see you! I miss you darling." She stuttered and anger over flushed through me. "No you don't. You don't care about me, you never have. You've probably had another argument with dad or something. Well you're not coming here my ruin my life even more than you already have." I said harshly with tears forming in my eyes. Josh pulled me close to him and Maddy ran so she was next to us. "Lexa just call the police, she's done nothing but abuse you for years." She told me softly and I nodded following her back inside, Josh following me and I shut the door. I should've called the police years ago but I never had the guts, I always kind of felt sorry for her, she took her anger out on me because she never got on well with my dad, but I guess that's no excuse. "Josh I'm so sorry, I know we have to leave I just, I'm scared." Tears fell more freely and Josh cupped my face gently. "None of this is your fault Lexa, I love you okay? The guys can wait, they'll understand." He said and took my hand in his.
"Right the police are on their way, you guys can go if you want, just don't take any notice of her when you walk past." Maddy told me waking back from the kitchen. "Mads I can't leave you with a mad women outside our door, she's my probl-" I started and she pushed me towards the door with Josh. "I love you okay? Be safe." She told me and she hugged me tightly. "You too mads," I replied and turned, with one hand on my suitcase and the other tangled with Josh's, to walk out of the flat.
Walking down the small hallway and out to the dark but well lit street, my drunken mother was waiting. "Where are you two off to? Honeymoon? Wouldn't be surprised if the little slut was married at 16, probably forced you to stay with her by saying she was pregnant or something." She laughed and Josh tensed his fists and looked down at my tearful face. I shook my head lightly and he carried on waking to his car. I got into the passenger seat and I was crying again, this is why I didn't want her finding me. I said before that her words never hurt me, well they didn't, but that was because I was used to her abuse and I had learnt not to feel it anymore, now that I was with Josh, I was happy, I could feel again, her words crushed me.
"Lexa!!" Matt called as I stepped on the tour bus with my suitcase. My eyes were still red from crying and my breathing uneven. "What's happened?" He shot at me when he noticed. "Nothing I'm fine." I smiled politely and he scoffed. "Really? That's what everyone says when there's something wrong, but don't worry, I won't force you to tell me, I just want you to be happy!" He told me excitedly and I smiled genuinely. "This is your bunk" Josh pulled me through to the bunk areas and pointed to mine which was next to his and below Matts. "Josh, could I stay with you tonight? I don't want to be alone." I asked and he placed his lips on mine before mumbling "yes."
After I had said hello to Dan, Chris, Max and their tour manager i left them to play FIFA and changed into my leggings and Josh's oversized shirt before getting into his bunk, 20 minutes later he came to join me. "Hey" he whispered to me while pulling me close to him. "What's wrong?" He asked and I looked up to face him through my long, messy hair. "It's nothing, really." I told him and cuddled into his chest. "You can tell me," he said placing his lips to my forehead which made me giggle to myself. "Well, you saw how my mum is, and my dad is the same, maybe worse, and I don't want to drag you into all this, I mean, I'm nothing special, just another girl with family problems who gets emotional over the tiniest thing and, well if you ever get annoyed at me or get fed up of it I'm just scared that you'll leave me and I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to but you keep me happy and-" I paused and sigh quietly but Josh continued before I could. "Alexa, I'm not saying I know what's going to happen in the future, but I will admit that I think about it a lot, and that may be a bit forward but i do, seeing your mum today didn't change that, you are you, not her, not anybody else and I love you." He spoke softly and wrapped his arms around me tighter until I fell asleep.
"Mm morning" I woke up to Josh leaning over me with a grin. "Morning" I replied and he laughed softly. "wow you're really not a morning person are you?" I glared at him with sleepy eyes and a scrunched up nose and shook my head. "You're still adorable though," he added which made me blush and cover my face with my hair. "We're in Cardiff now, it's half 11 so we'll be going for sound check and setting up in a few hours" he told me laying his head back on the pillow so I shuffled closer to him until he wrapped his arms around me pulling me forward.
"We've got a show in Cardiff tonight, you can come watch or stay in the bus and chill, up to you as you'll see us on other shows.." Max told me and I smiled, holding Josh's hand "I'll definitely come!" I told Max and turned to Josh "I wouldn't let you stay by yourself anyway, not after what's happened" he told me and I nodded in agreement. I knew if I was left alone I would end up thinking and over thinking it, it would drive me insane. At least with the guys I had something else to think about.
"Josh!" a girl, about two years older than me, shouted and pulled Josh into a hug which lasted longer than I would've liked. "I've missed you!" She continued and Josh laughed awkwardly. "Jessica this is my girlfriend Alexa." Josh introduce and she gave me a disgusted look. "Girlfriend? What?" She asked angrily and Josh pulled me towards his side. "Yeah" he kissed the side if my head and went to go help set up. "I bet you're only with him for his looks" the girl, Jessica, said when he was out of earshot. "Oh yeah, definitely, he's a right dick head." I replied sarcastically and she huffed and walked off. "Hey! I heard that!" Josh smirked over at me and I winked in reply. "I meant every word of it!"
As the band were playing, I was so happy, the atmosphere was incredible! The crowd knew at least 70% of the words to the songs and I could tell Josh was overly pleased. The energy in the room was phenomenal, there was crowd surfing and the crowd weren't silent even once. I knew the band were quite big, never did I imagine this. It was unexpected as they weren't well know in Surrey from what I gathered. After every song Josh would smile over at me from side-stage and wink, I think the crowd even realised what he was doing after the 4th song and "aww'd" when they saw me, I guess they also knew Josh had a girlfriend. "So guys," Josh started, "yesterday it was my two month anniversary with my beautiful girlfriend Alexa," the crowd screamed after he said this. "And I surprised her by coming back from tour on my day off, but she's here with us now, and I want you all to meet her!" Josh put his mic back in the stand and ran towards me with a grin. "Josh you know I love you but hate huge crowds!" I hid before he grabbed my hand and pulled me on stage. "So guys this is Lexa, she's stunning right?" He asked the crowd making me blush slightly before deciding to Irritate Jessica, who I could see watching us, by pulling myself towards Josh, pressing my lips with his and the crowd screamed even more. "I love you" I whispered, and I really meant it. "I love you too" he kissed me again and I ran off stage before he finished his set with the consequence and underdog at the fans request.
"Did you enjoy the show?" Matt asked as I was sat on a speaker and he was helping pack up. "Yeah it was amazing, I'm so glad I'm here." I told him happily and he was glad to hear that. At that moment I noticed Josh talking with Jessica, he was laughing and she was too, playing with her hair as she did and slight jealousy rushed through me. I ignored it as I fully trusted Josh and didn't want to start anything, but on the other hand, i was curious. "Matt, has anything ever gone on between Josh and Jessica?" And asked and intently regretted it after realising how pathetic I sounded, we weren't even going to be here tomorrow. "They used to date, but that was years ago, they broke up because she thought she had a chance with some other singer dude and then realised she didn't so she tried to get back with Josh but he didn't have any of it, theres nothing to worry about, I promise!" He smiled reassuringly and I returned it in thanks before turning to head out back to the bus.
As soon as I stepped onto the bus I headed for the bunk areas and changed into my leggings and my oversized superhero tee and climbed into my bunk with my earphones. Roughly an hour later, I noticed Josh enter the bus with Max. He played FIFA with the guys for a while before they all started coming to bed, noticing that my curtain was still open, I pulled it closed and shut my eyes to try get to sleep. They instantly opened again when Josh climbed into my bunk with me. "Hi" I said, then turning to face him. "Hey" he replied pulling me towards him and placing his lips on mine softly. I got myself comfy all cuddled into Josh before the bus started moving and I fell asleep instantly.
