Awakened by the sound of heavy rain against her window, Mirabel sadly stared at the overcast sky.

She had so many plans today for Y/N that she planned with the girl 3 days ago. They planned to go fishing, maybe even look through Y/N's father's telescope and have a sleepover in their new treehouse, design their treehouse even.

But nope, this cruddy storm had to ruin it all. The teen light punched her wall in fury just in time for Julieta to walk in.

" Mirabel I brought you some hot...cocoa..."

Mother and daughter locked eyes before the woman cleared her throat and placed the mug on a nearby desk. " Are you alright? Why were you punching the wall?"

" Ah well. I had plans with Y/N today. But then suddenly a storm came by and I'm worried uh..." she thought for a moment whether or not she should tell her mother about their new secret hangout place. " Well it is secret so...". She took a deep breath and awkward laugh.

" I'm bummed about it basically."

Julieta patted her shoulder. " Yeah it's like that sometimes. Your Tia Pepa liked to say that the weather is always unpredictable." Her daughter replied with a sad hun before burying her face into the pillow. " I phow phut phhwe phill phanned it."

" Mira I can't understand you."

She faced Julieta again. " I said we still planned it mama." She felt her mothers hand rummage through her hair playfully and groaned, while Julieta just gave her a small laugh. " You'll see your friend once the storm ends, don't worry mi vida."

And with that, Julieta left the room, leaving Mirabel staring at the mug of hot cocoa. Once again " friend" didn't seem like the right word. She picked up another feather, wanting to write to Y/N. But no one can send letters in a storm-

She slammed her head into the table, figuring staying in her room won't do anything. Mirabel took the mug and exited her room, wherein she found Dolores standing right in front if her door. She shrieked. " Dolores!"

" Good morning."
" Don't do that! Please?"

Her cousin squeaked before following her doen the stairs and into the kitchen. Realizing Dolores was still behind her, Mirabel faced away from the basket of arepas to find her staring. She raised a brow. " Uhm... do you need something?". Dolores shrugged. " I have nothing to do and my brothers more of annoy me than bond with me. I can't spend time with Mariano either." Mirabel rolled her eyes at the mention of Mariano's name. He has been coming here EVERY NIGHT to serenade her cousin.

It's sweet but they end up not getting enough sleep.

" Well I'm bored too and I don't know what to do so it's best if you find someone else to bond with." Mirabel said, attempting to fix her messy locks.

" You're pretty cranky today. Is it because you couldn't see your girlfriend?"

Mirabel choked on an arepa. Dolores grinned. "What- Dolores!" " What? Am I right or wrong?"

" Wrong! We're just friends oh my gosh." Dolores replied with a suspicious hum.
" Well I can't hear her family much due to the storm but...." she leaned closer.

" ... do you know what I've heard?"

Mirabel squinted her eyes. " Alright Camilo you can stop with the act now. Dolores doesn't act like that."

' Dolores' has now turned back into the shapeshifter boy Mirabel mentioned, a frown plastered on his face. " You're no fun sometimes."

" As if you know anything about Y/N." Mirabel argued. It was still pretty hard for her to differentiate whether a person is really the person itself or Camilo in disguise. In this way he knows almost everything about his cousin. I say almost everything because he wasn't aware of her confused feelings yet.
