( Y/N's pov )

Father came home just a 3 days after mom got into that accident. I'm not mad at him for being this late to check up on mother's well-being, considering I know his situation at work now, and he doesn't show his affection publicly to mother much.

But he truly did care for her. People who know him well are aware of that, including me.

He's been in the room with her since yesterday, he only ever went out if mother needed to get herself checked by the medics and Julieta, and whenever mother needed food.

I was planning to tell him about me and Mirabel, but seeing the state we are in right now, it wasn't a good idea. I don't even know if he'll accept us.

" Y/N?"

My thoughts halted when I heard Mirabel's voice enter the room. It was rather dim in here so she had a candle in hand. " You okay? I mean- sorry that was dumb. With your mom and all-"

" It's alright."

After that, the silence just kept growing in between us. I mean I don't blame her. I'm also troubled on what we should even do if we're in a ... relationship. One that's secret for now.

" Hey. Would you mind if I took you somewhere?" Mirabel suddenly asked me.

" No of course not." I replied.

Mirabel's concerned frown then disappeared, replacing it with a wide smile.

" Alright then, follow me Y/N."

( 3rd person pov )

" Hurry! I don't want you to miss it while it's almost sunset!" Mirabel's voice echoed through the almost empty streets of the town as the now love of her life ran to catch up behind her.

" Mira where exactly are we going?"
" That will ruin the surprise!"

The Madrigal continued running, the sky gradually melting into the colors of blue then pink then orange. The dirt path turned into luscious green blades of grass, and they finally arrived at an empty plain field. " Oh? You took me here for gardening?" Y/N asked, oblivious to what is happening.

Mirabel laughed. " Hahahah! No of course not. I just y-y'know." Mirabel took a hidden radio out of it's hiding spot, nervously adjusting her glasses while she tried to find a perfect song. " I just thought m-maybe I could help you uh- relax a bit. A lot has happened to us so far.. I think. And my dad said he used to slow dance with mom whenever she felt stressed-"

" You ... want to dance with me?"

Mirabel hesitantly looked at Y/N, eyes averting to another direction before they could lock eyes. " Yeah." she slowly replied.

" But I don't really know .. HOW to dance you know. I mean I do I just never danced with anyone before." Y/N's voice grew softer throughout the sentence, feeling a little embarrassed. " Same." Mirabel casually answered.

Y/N raised a brow, a smile growing on her face. " Then why do you want to dance with me?" she asked in between giggles.

" I'd do it if it's with you though."

Y/N blushed and stopped giggling. Not just because she was surprised but she also felt rather warm. " Oh ... that's very sweet. Thank you." she said. Mirabel turned on the radio, just as the sunset began the glow a clear mixture of radiant orange. " So may I have this dance?"

There was no hesitation present, Y/N took her hand but had very nervous feet. Mirabel delicately placed one of her Y/N's hands onto her shoulder, and placed her hand gently on her waist. " It's alright, I'll lead you. I promise."
