SEVEN: Cursed Souls

CHAPTER 32: SHATTERED

The next day,  at Skull's lair.

The members of Skull wore masks before they gathered with other members of Fangs who will now assist them of their mission.

James and Ryder discussed of their plans, omitting of their plan to use Ryder's power first before Fangs and Skull attack the One-Eyed' lair. Maya and Darwin are tasked to lead the groups while both Ryder and James will attack with the undead first.

"What about the bodies? What are we going to use them for?" asked a member of Fangs who is clueless of the powers of some of the people around them.

"Leave those to us. We can assure all of you that your hardships in digging those bodies will not be in vain."

Some time later, Ryder, James, and Steve found themselves near the One-Eyed' lair.

The putrid smell of the bodies behind the truck they used is now worsened by the smell of the garbage that they placed above the bodies to hide them. Steve opened the truck and James started enraging Ryder again, and in moments, the lifeless bodies stood and started walking while Ryder floated mid-air, his body is casting a dark smoke as dark as his eyes during that moment.

Steve could no longer hold his vomit due to the smell of the undead that are now running towards the One-Eyed' lair. He ran into the forest nearby to vomit and in just seconds after he reached the tree closest to the road, they all hear of gunshots.

"There's few of them," Ryder told the two.

"What do you mean?" James asked in confusion before hearing the last gunshot which is then followed by the yells of men.

"That is what I meant. We must alert Maya and Darwin to abort, it seems like this is a trap."

"But they are already at the opposite route, they'll arrive in minutes," James replied before pulling his phone from his pocket. He called Maya but they did not expect that there suddenly is no cellular reception.

"This is bad! Let's get inside and exit to the opposite end of the building, we have no time to waste!"

Ryder, James, and Steve ran through the building because their group followed a different route and they must stop them from reaching the place. Ryder controlled the undead to untie all the men inside the building before they exited it from behind.

They ran fast but they were too late, just some hundred meters away from the building, they met the members of Skull and Fangs mid-way.

Gunshots can now be heard again from the building which confused the three because all the men are already tied, and the undead had already gone to the upper floor and no one was there.

"We have to retreat, it's a trap!" Steve said.

"W-What? But my Uncle is there! We have to save him!" answered Logan before darting into the building from afar. The One-Eyed' lair is easily seen since it is only one of the two abandoned building beside the road, the other one is an abandoned warehouse of the factory which was named Del Fuego Jewels. 

Logan was too fast that all the other members were not able to stop him so they followed him, luckily, he entered the warehouse and not directly the building where the gunshots came from.

The gunshots are heard again while the laughter of men are clearly heard from the other building.

"Logan!" said Ryder when they caught up with him at the warehouse. "You can not just attack without a plan, what if you entered the other building and you were found by those people. Your Uncle wouldn't be happy if you died because of such case, would he?"
