CHAPTER 31: ONE EYED

HOURS earlier, at Skull's lair.

"We can't just sacrifice him you know."

"His tongue, are you sure that we should cut his tongue--"

"It's okay, the kid still has a life outside anyway," the man in question intervenes.

Hope stood in front of the man, "Are you sure? Even with the Witch's power, we cannot grow your tongue back once it is cut," she said.

"But we can seal and heal it back immediately though," James added.

The man suddenly grabs the Bracelet of Mimicry from James' hand then wears it, and shortly after he wore the bracelet, he shapeshifts into Logan. Members of Skull were shocked at first but then they continued to argue on what to do and who should cut it if they agree to do it then all of a sudden, the man runs then picks up the scissor that is placed above the table at the other side of the room.

Everyone else looked at him, both Hope and Steve ran towards him to stop him when they saw him aiming to cut his tongue with the pair of scissors in his hand. It happened too fast that when both Steve and Hope reached the man, his tongue had already reached the floor and his mouth is already gushing out with blood.

Maya did not let any moment to waste and also run to the man to heal him immediately.

Present time, at the Skull's lair, after the fire.

James and the Skull was able to bring back Luster and the other family member safely.

The man who sacrificed himself ran towards James and help them carry the other person they save. It didn't take long for Maya to come inside the lair with someone.

"You survived," a sudden voice is heard so everyone looked at where it came from. The person they saved is now smiling while he look at the person who also just arrived with Maya.

"You too," the person with Maya uttered before running to hug the other.

The man who sacrificed looked at the two and uncontrollably fell into tears when he saw the two hugging each other tightly and also crying. The kid still has a life outside.

"Logan! I'm sorry if I only came now!" the person who was with Maya said.

Logan hugged the person tighter. "I missed you so much, Ryder!"

"I was worried for so long, you are finally safe!" Ryder said.

Logan suddenly stopped when he saw his younger cousin Luster sleeping at Hope's lap. "B-but our house is burned," he burst into tears "My family is dead and my Uncle Javier, he is dragged outside, Ryder! My uncle Xavier is abducted by a group of men. We must save him!" Logan told the group.

"I know it is hard, Logan. Only you, Luster, and maybe he are still left alive. We are sorry but we weren't able to save anyone else, you also almost died from poison, didn't you drink the 'Miracle'?"

"I did, Ryder but I was only able to take a sip when someone unexpectedly entered," he said before looking sharply at James, "Didn't you tell me that I was the only one who'll die? Then why is my whole family involved? Who are those guys with an eye symbol on their hands?"

James intervened, "A what? This wasn't supposed to happen. So One-Eyed is becoming a bigger problem for us."

"You know them? Please, let's save my Uncle. We weren't related by blood but unlike all my kins who never truly cared about me, Uncle Javier had taken care of me like his own son," Logan said before wiping his tears, "he saved my life before, let me save him this time!"
