Hours later, all the members of Reapers are finally back at their lair.
Ryder was left alone in his room to prepare for the feast while James also entered Witch's room to talk to Maya. They took out the radios that James was able to snuck into the lair.
"Ryder, we failed to save her!" James cried, "Puppeteer is ruthless, she would do anything for her mission. Jade is dead, Ryder."
"I saw her myself, Puppeteer was the one who sniped Jade. I knew because I was with her during the mission," Maya said.
"So are you saying that she knew that we were trying to save Jade?" Ryder asked.
Ina clapped. "You fools! It's more likely that someone among you told her!" Ina said after hearing what they are talking through the radio.
"Stop trying to separate the group, Ina! It might've been something else," James replied after hearing Ina's remarks.
"James is right. It's more likely that they are being careful in fulfilling their mission because of what happened to Logan's family last time. After One Eyed's interference with Assassin's plans, I knew that other's became more cautious," Maya said.
"And we must too," Hope agreed. "Sadly, we also failed to save two lives."
A knock is suddenly heard from Ryder. Ryder acted fast and put away the radio before Anonymous could enter the room.
"Wear the bat mask. Tonight is the Masquerade of the Cursed, the feast for the harvest of sinners that turns the land to filth!" Anonymous said, handing over an invitation.
Ryder took the invitation then wore the bat mask that was previously left in his room. They then proceeded to the other building, a castle. It was Ryder's first time to see the castle from the inside because they are usually at the Reaper's lair.
They took the stairs from the outside that led them into a platform inside the castle. Seven thrones can be seen on the platform while all the other members below are observed when sitting there.
Ryder looked below the people at the atrium of the castle, all are wearing masks.
Even here, the social strata is very evident. Superiors are separated from other members through this platform. Other members can't simply climb up here either. Hmmm, there's really a lot of them. Is this why the authorities do not find it sketchy when people are found with missing body parts? I guess maybe there are others who are officials and investigators that are also parts of this group. Ryder thought.
Puppeteer suddenly stood at the edge of the platform. "People of Anonymous, drink up!" she lifted the glass of wine before drinking from it, then the members from below followed her example. "Today, we celebrate for the crops we sow as we sacrifice their sinful body and hope for the success of its reapers!" she lifted the empty glass of wine then looked at the members with her on the platform. "Shall we?" she asked her members, the Ravens.
They started to lit up the cauldron that had been placed at the side of the platform, then when the fire was large, the members threw the body parts of the people that they had reaped, 7 body parts which equates to each of their Sins. They threw one then everyone below started singing, no matter how hard Ryder try to understand what he is hearing, he never understood their chant.
Another body part was thrown but the moment it had started burning, Puppeteer suddenly started screaming. Smoke came out of her hand.
She removed the cloth that covers her arms and it appears that her hand till before her elbow started to turn to embers. Members immediately put the fire out and as they do so, Puppeteers hand stopped burning.
