SEVEN: Cursed Souls

CHAPTER 36: RAVENS

At the Kill's maze.

"Kill, are you here? Can you guide me into your room please, I need to discuss something," the woman who entered the maze before James and Ryder escaped said.

She waited at the entrance then in just some time, a man wearing a brown robe appeared.

"Puppeteer! What brings you here?" asked the man.

"Where is Anonymous? Is he here? I also need to tell him something, Kill, " she said.

"He is not here, but what is it that you want to discuss with me?" Kill proceeded to walk and Puppeteer followed.

"I'll tell you when you get to your room."

She followed Kill while also feeling the walls in every turn they take. They reached an intersection and Puppeteer was put to a stop when she felt unfamiliar marks, the two X marks in both directions.

"This is new?"

"What is?" Kill asked.

Puppeteer took Kill's hand and made him feel the marks on the walls. "This one, shouldn't there be only one X?"

Kill snapped his fingers then a new wall rose to block the other direction. "Don't think of it too much, let's go to my room now."

At Kill's room.

"What is it that you want to tell me and Anonymous?" asked Kill.

"Tomorrow, I will harvest my last crops. I will be needing your help."

"Oh, so the feast would be tomorrow then? But--"

"Yes," Puppeteer intervened, "But I went to the Seer's room to give him his mask and invitation, he is not there. That is why I was asking you if Anonymous is here."

Kill nodded his head. "Maybe he is with Anonymous then. Anyway, I have a mission outside today, I'll just go to your room later to discuss your plans for tomorrow. You can leave now."

The two went back to the maze and found their way out, but deep inside the maze where the book is hidden, another person remained.

"This was closed when I left it. Hmmm, Ryder is closer to his goal, huh?!" asked the person who is wearing a brown robe and a bull mask, Anonymous.

The next day, at Puppeteer's room.

"We are gathered here today to prepare for the feast this evening. And as a tradition of our group, we'll be reaping souls all together for the final sinner. But there's two so I needed the help of you. The Seer, Anonymous, and Techno, can I task you to reap her soul?" she pointed at the menu at her table. "The eye of the envy shall be served, Vian Baging is your mission, you must leave her letter at her locker then it would be her choice to believe or get electrocuted."

Puppeteer then took another menu at the table then showed it to everyone. "She is the main dish. The heart of the angry, Jade de Verde, I will trust the remaining three to help me reap her soul."

The six looked at her before nodding.

"But what have the two done? I'm curious," the Seer asked.

Puppeteer laughed. "Well, Vian betrayed her friends and continues to betray others because she is never a true friend, but rather a snake that would bite others just to get what she wants. While Jade? Her hatred towards humanity makes her vicious, she manipulates other people, hurting them, or causing them trouble. Both of them are rotten souls!"

Seer nodded but he could only contain his anger through secretly forming a fist.

The Puppeteer laughed again. "I hope you all do your parts properly, let's prepare!"

Everyone went back to their rooms. James already planned ahead to get a radio that he can use to tell Hope on how they could help.

After some time, the Reapers went on their ways to Vian and Jade.

Vian will be electrocuted if she dare help one of her classmates attempting to jump from the rooftop, while Jade will be shot by her own boyfriend. James knew that Jade's case is the riskiest and they couldn't do anything to interfere because Puppeteer plans to monitor how Jade will meet her demise, while Vian's case would be easier because there would be no other people involved except her and her classmate who will attempt to jump.

Hope and the Skull planned how they could help Vian without risking their own lives. The building that Vian will be seen at will be a building to be renovated so there are no other people that goes or passes by it, Hope figured that they could setup a net below where Vian's classmate will attempt to jump while others will go to the rooftop and try to save Vian and her classmate.

Meanwhile, the Reapers  already accomplished their parts in bringing the letters of death, and like most people, both ignored the warning and still went on their ways, unrepentant to their sins.

Hours passed and just like what they were told, Vian is now with someone at a private building's rooftop.

"Please, don't jump!" someone said.

"How dare you follow me here when you are the reason that I will be doing this?"

"I was the reason? I never thought that your sister would betray you like that?"

"Oh Vian! You knew that she hated me... she told my Mom and all other relatives. You knew I never did what you told her!" the woman said before stepping further into the edge of the rooftop.

"This is not the way, please! I only asked your sister to talk to you about it. I never knew she'd betray you."

"Vian, you are only envy that I was performing well. How come that you told her that I was sleeping with our professor? You knew I never did that, Vian!" she said before stepping further away.

The door to the rooftop suddenly opened, Hope and some Skull members finally reached Vian and her classmate but it seemed like they are too late. Hope tried to stop them but it happened too fast, she saw it with her own eyes how two bodies met their endings, both getting electrocuted before falling down.

Meanwhile, at the riverside.

Jade and her boyfriend were picking up stones when her boyfriend suddenly pulled out a gun.

"You filthy b*tch! How dare you sleep with my brother?!"

"Wha-What?" Jade asked back, trembling.

"My brother almost killed me so that you two could be together! He clearly told me that you two are having sex when I am not around? You even dared to tell him he is better at bed than I am?!"

How is it coming true? "Your wrath infects another and the wrath that it causes shall bring your demise" Jade thought. 

"Brother no! Don't do it, please! Kill her and you kill me!" another man runs from the distance.

Jade also pleads for her life but the man have a firm grip on the gun despite hesitance seen clearly on his face.

"How come that his brother got here? He'll interfere with what will happen!" Puppeteer asked herself from the distance. James smiled under his mask when he heard what Puppeteer said.

Thankfully, Gavin was able to do my favor. James thought.

"Don't come near or I'll shoot her!" Jade's boyfriend told his brother. Tears started to fall from his eyes but he never took away his eyes from Jade who's now kneeling in front of him.

Suddenly, a gunshot was heard and then another. Two bodies met the floor consecutively.

Jade was first to fall yet her boyfriend was shocked when she was shot, regretful from what he did, he held Jade's hands before also being shot.
