Ever since I came here, everything felt like a hallucination. Coming from a small country and even smaller village, to this whole damn "American dream" was really something, I would maybe dream about as a little kid. My family wasn't really poor. I grew up in a big house with a garden on a pretty noisy street. Growing up, I never really had much going on, no big hobbies or aspirations that I would chase after. When I was 4, my mom signed me up for English lessons and honestly, that was her first and also last great decision she made in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents, but I always felt like something was wrong with me growing up. I never really felt like I belong anywhere, so "escaping" to another country was my way to mess with my identity a little and maybe get lost in different story, than the one I knew back home.

I came here alone, to study abroad. I was scared at first, cuz even tho it's pretty exciting, I was scared of the cultural differences and many other things linked to my studies. I always hated changes. New people, new places, new memories and all the "new stuff" that will became old as soon as you find something different. But on the other hand, nothing was really holding me back. I didn't have much friends in my country, so I've had literally no one to left behind, besides my parents, older brother and my dog (that I miss a lot).

I was staying with my "foster family" here in the US. They were pretty nice, even tho they sometimes speak too fast and I couldn't understand some things, but they were still pretty cool. They came to pick me up from airport and as soon as I dropped my bags in my room and had a little chat with them about all of our traditions and other things, I decided that I'm gonna take a walk around the town and act hella mysterious, just like they always do in those American movies (now you must think that I'm just some snobby European, but bear with me, I'm not that sour, I promise). No one really gave me any "warning", so I wasn't scared to walk around alone, even tho I saw some pretty... interesting looking people. I stopped by a small shop to get some water and chips, just because I wanted to talk to someone.

"Hello." (why the fuck did I said hello? This isn't Old England)

"Hi... how can I help you?"

He was kinda slow and he sounded drunk, but I wasn't a little pussy, so I wasn't thinking much about it.

"Can I have a small bottle of water and some.. I don't know, salted chips?"

"Yeah.. sure.. You don't seem familiar tho. Who send you?"

"..no- one? I'm new here. I just moved in."

Was I.. looking strange? I've had long brown straight messy hair, an oversized hoodie and I was pale as a wall.

"Oh, okay, whatever. Just don't talk to anyone and make sure you won't drop out of school. You seem too nice for that."

I took it as a compliment, but I wasn't really good at making convos. So I just laughed awkwardly and wait till he spoke again.

"What's your name?"

"I'm Veronica. Nice to meet you. What about you?"

"I'm Fezco, but people just call me Fez... I don't go to school, but I'm sure you already gathered that."

"I mean.. no, but.. you seem pretty happy in this shop."

In that moment, a black girl with curly hair came in and greeted Fez. She looked pretty.. relaxed and as I was staring at her for a bit, she looked back at me.

"So.. who are you? A new client?", she chuckled.

Fez looked at me, then back at her and he seemed pretty nervous. I knew what was going on.

"Don't worry, I'm okay with whatever you selling'. I'm not gonna snitch at any of you."

"I already like her! I'm Rue, nice to meet ya!", she said as she tried to hold my hand. Whatever was she on, I've never seen a nicer drug addict. Maybe cuz I haven't seen enough of them. I shook her hand and told her that I'm gonna see her at school if she goes to one. Then I made my way back to home with a pretty fuckin good first impression of this town.

Note: This is the first chapter, so I wanted to keep it as light as possible, so I can build more dynamic storyline later. This story will be pretty graphic, but if you watch Euphoria, you should be prepared. Lets see where will this take us.
