He still leaves a seat for her at the table. He still plants her white flowers in the garden. He still thinks about her when he looks at the stars in the sky through the cracks in the treetops. But despite the place that he still saves for her memory, the followers around him eventually forget. All of sudden, he wakes up one day to realize that her name is no longer a person in his life but something to which the followers say their prayers, like a god. And like a god, it's almost as if she never really existed at all. Almost.
