Isla took a deep breath as she stood outside of Gerard’s home, it had been a couple of days since things between her and Dev had come to a close and Dev had insisted that she come and speak to Gerard.

Since her break-up with Dev, Isla had refrained from going to see Gerard since she wanted time to herself before she jumped into a new relationship and she knew her parents were suspicious.

Tracy and Theodore might have been distracted with final preparations so that they could renew their vows that weekend but they knew that something had happened between Dev and Isla.

Isla knocked on the door and wondered if Gerard was going to be upset with her, she had ignored his calls while she got over the fact that she was no longer dating Dev; she wanted to be sure before she took the next step.

Isla didn’t have to wait long before Gerard opened the door to her, she smiled at him nervously knowing that he had every right to be upset with her since she had pushed him away without explanation.

“Hola,” Isla greeted softly, her blue eyes watching Gerard knowing that she would make it up to him when she had the chance; she was sure he wouldn’t turn her away.

Gerard stared at Isla, he had almost thought that he would never see her again and he was a little upset that she hadn’t called him back; he had left her tons of messages with no response back at all.

“I’m sorry for the past few days,” Isla said as Gerard stepped aside to allow her to step into his home, she was so nervous and she wasn’t sure what to say to him; she was worried that he would turn her away.

Isla looked at Gerard, she knew that he had said that she was the only one that he wanted but she had a bad feeling that he wouldn’t want her now; she felt like she had made a mistake in coming to see him.

Gerard stared at Isla, she looked different and he had a feeling that something had happened between her and Dev; he could imagine that she had come to tell him she was engaged.

The two headed upstairs to the living room, Isla was silent while she tried to wrap her head around the fact that she was here to tell Gerard that she was in love with him; it was scary and she worried he wouldn’t want her.

“Do you want a drink?” Gerard asked knowing that Milan wouldn’t be back until later, he looked at Isla wondering why she had come here if she was just going to hurt him even more.

Gerard knew that he had said that he would be happy as just her friend but it hurt and watching her with Dev was killing him; he didn’t want to have to watch her marry the wrong man.

“Dev and I broke up,” Isla blurted out, she hadn’t known now to tell him and now she had done it, she wished that she had found a better way to break the news.

Gerard stared at her as her words slowly sunk in, his heart pounded in his chest as he realised that Isla was single; he wondered for a moment if she was messing with him.

“What?” Gerard whispered stepping closer to Isla, he couldn’t take his eyes off her and he knew that this was what he had wanted; he feared what she could say as much as he needed to hear it.

“We broke up,” Isla repeated smiling a little, she felt butterflies in her stomach as she wondered what he would do with this news; she couldn’t shake the feeling that she should have done this so much sooner.

Gerard nodded his head moving slowly closer to Isla, he was surprised that she didn’t seem too upset about the fact that she was now single and he wondered what had happened to make Dev and Isla end things.

Gerard knew that her parents favoured her ex-boyfriend and he doubted that they had taken it well when she had told them that she wasn’t dating Dev anymore; they had been so convinced that Isla would marry Dev.

“Why?” Gerard whispered standing a little away from Isla, he needed to know what had happened and he couldn’t shake the feeling that it had been because of him; he knew that they had been close recently and he doubted Dev had been happy about that.

Isla smiled at him, she had done so much thinking and Dev had been so helpful in making her realise what she wanted; she had needed to be sure that this was what she had wanted before she had made a move.

Isla didn’t know if she could ever live back in Barcelona, it was a major problem for her and she knew that she would need to speak to Gerard about this.

“Because I’m in love with you,” Isla whispered knowing just how long Gerard had been waiting for those words, she had made him wait such a long time and now she could finally tell him how she felt about all of this.

Gerard made a small noise before he stepped forward and kissed Isla, he wrapped his arms around her and held her close; he couldn’t believe that she had ended things for him and he had waited so long for this.

Isla grinned into the kiss, she wrapped her arms around Gerard’s neck; she ran her fingers through his hair as Gerard backed her into a wall.

“Say it again,” Gerard murmured kissing Isla, he slipped his hands under her blue gypsy T-shirt and pulled it over her head; he kissed down her neck leaving small marks as he went.

Isla bite her bottom lip, she smiled moving to unbutton Gerard’s checked shirt and moved her lips back to his; she couldn’t believe that this was actually happening that finally they were together.

“I love you,” Isla whispered to Gerard making him grin, he kissed her as she kicked off her nude flat ballerina pumps; she pushed Gerard’s shirt from his shoulders and onto the floor.

Gerard smiled at her words, he had waited so long for them and he couldn’t have been happier to hear them; he pushed her skinny jeans to the floor leaving Isla in her nude floral lace bra and embroidered Brazilian panties.

Isla laughed softly as she kissed Gerard, her fingers easily loosening his belt and pushing down his jeans to reveal his boxers; she was almost relieved when Gerard took over to remove his jeans allowing her to deal with her own that were pooled around her feet.

Gerard took a deep breath as he stared at Isla for a moment, she was everything that he wanted and he wasn’t going to let her slip through his fingers again; he moved closer to Isla before he kissed her again.

“I love you too, so much Isla,” Gerard murmured holding her close and knowing that he would have to do everything in his power to keep her this time; he had messed up the first time around and now he had somehow had Isla back.

Kissing Isla, Gerard knew that things weren’t going to be easy and he was willing to do whatever it took to make her happy; he would do long distance because he knew that she had a life back in Sydney that he didn’t want her to give it up just for him.

Gerard moved to wrap Isla’s legs around his waist, he had no idea what he would ever do without her and he wasn’t going to mess up; he kissed Isla almost glad that they were alone right now.

“Let’s take this upstairs,” Gerard murmured moving to unhook Isla’s bra, he tossed it to the side and hoped his mother wouldn’t be back with Milan for a long time.

Isla grinned kissing Gerard allowing him to carry her out of the living room and upstairs towards the bedroom; she had a feeling that she was going to miss dinner with her parents and she didn’t care.

Gerard kicked the bedroom door closed behind them, he had a lot of time to make up for missing.
