Gerard smiled stepping into his mother's home with a tired Milan, it had been a long day for the little boy and he was ready for his bed now; they had both taken a flight out to Barcelona as soon as they could.

Montserrat smiled at her son, she wasn't surprised that he had rushed home to be with Isla after what had happened to Theodore; she was sure that Isla needed him so much right now.

"How is she?" Gerard asked trying to sooth an overly-tired Milan, he cuddled his son sure that his mother would be fine to take him for a little while.

Montserrat sighed and looked up the stairs, Isla was grieving and completely devastated that her father had passed away; it had been a horrible shock and it would take time for her to recover.

Gerard watched his mother, he knew that this wasn't easy on any of them and Tracy's hate-campaign against him was destroying the family; it had ruined what could have been a great last few months for Theodore.

"I'll take Milan," Montserrat insisted taking her grandson, she cuddled him before heading to settle him down since he was falling asleep.

Gerard watched his mother go before he shrugged off his coat and toed off his trainers, he was tired but he needed to see Isla; she needed him right now and that was what mattered.

Gerard headed upstairs and to the guest room where he knew that Isla had been staying, he was quiet as he moved in case she was asleep; however stepping into the room, he could see how wrong that he was to think that.

Isla sat curled up on the bed crying, tears streaked down her face as she tried to keep herself as quiet as possible; the sight alone hurt Gerard and he walked over to Isla wanting to comfort her.

"I am so sorry amor," Gerard murmured wrapping his arms around Isla, he hated that she was suffering and that there was nothing that he could do about this; he just had to be there to support her.

Isla sniffled and stared up at Gerard, she hadn't expected him to drop everything and come to her; she knew that Manchester United weren't going to be pleased with his actions but she was glad he was there.

Gerard cuddled Isla and let her cry, there was nothing that he could do or say that would ever bring her father back; he wished that he could do something but it just wasn't possible.

"It's okay," Gerard whispered rocking Isla back and forth, he closed his blue eyes wondering if she had been like this when everything had fell apart last time.

Gerard knew that he would never really forgive himself for what had happened nearly three years earlier; he wouldn't let Isla break down and feel that ending her life was the only option.

"He's gone," Isla sobbed clinging to Gerard, she didn't want to believe that her father was truly gone; she would never see him again and soon she would have to go to his funeral.

Isla doubted that Tracy was going to make the next couple of weeks easy on them, her mother would create a big fuss and try to make everything about the situation about her despite the fact that Theodore wanted a divorce.

"I know and I am so sorry," Gerard whispered trying to comfort Isla, he might not have gotten along with her parents but he hated that Theodore had passed away so suddenly.

Isla had barely had time to get used to her father being back in her life before he had been so cruel taken from her; Gerard had been pleased to hear that Isla was talking with her father before all of this had happened.

Gerard spent the entire night trying to comfort Isla, he held her as she cried and he didn't let go of her even when she exhausted herself and fell asleep.

Waking up the next morning, Isla blinked confused for a moment before she realised that she was alone in bed; she sniffled sitting up a little and looking around, she still couldn't believe that her father was gone.

Isla sat on the bed for a moment trying to wrap her head around what had happened yesterday, she still didn't want to believe that her father was really gone but she knew that he was.

"Buenos días," Gerard greeted walking into the bedroom carrying a tray with breakfast on, he smiled weakly at Isla knowing that things were going to take time and he wasn't going to rush her.

Gerard had spoken with Manchester United and they had given him until after the funeral to get back to training; they understood that he would be away even if they were at a crucial part of the season.

Gerard set down the breakfast, his mother had offered to get a start on planning since there was so much to be done and Isla wasn't in the right state of mind to do anything right now.

"How are you feeling?" Gerard asked sitting down on the bed, he looked at Isla knowing that she was going to be just fine; he was going to be here for her no matter what happened.

Isla shrugged her shoulders, none of it felt real and she didn't know what to think right now; she was sure that there were things that she needed to do but she didn't know what.

"I have a couple of weeks off," Gerard murmured wrapping his arms around Isla, he knew that she was lost right now but it would get better; he honestly didn't know what to do right now.

Isla closed her eyes cuddling close to Gerard, she was glad that he was here and she had no idea what she would do without him; she needed him and he was there for her.

Gerard took a deep breath, he wanted nothing more than to make things better but he could only be round and support her right now.

Tracy finished off her fourth glass of wine, the news had reached her late at night and she still couldn't believe that Theodore had died; she hadnt seen him since he had banned her from his hospital room.

Tracy had never thought that this was how her life would turn out and she felt so alone right now, her children were staying away and her husband had died; she had no idea who she could turn to now.

Tracy poured herself another glass of wine, she didn't care what anyone else thought everything that she had done was for the better of her family.

Tracy knew that Gerard was going to break Isla's heart, he had hurt her daughter once and she wasn't going to let him do it again; he had nearly killed Isla last time and she would do anything to stop that from happening again.

Tracy leaned back on the couch, she honestly didn't know why Isla had even forgiven Gerard for what he had done; she had been so much better off with Dev, and Tracy was sure that they would have been married by now with a baby on the way.

Isla had been better off in Australia, she had family around to support her and Tracy was happy watching Gerard suffer as he waited for her daughter to come back.

Tracy was a little surprised that he had waited so long for her, she wondered how long he would have waited if Isla had never come back.

Gerard had been so quick to replace Isla once with some blonde that his friends had set him up with that Tracy was sure that he would do it again.

Tracy closed her eyes nursing her wine, she wanted her family back and she doubted that would ever happen now; this was meant to be a time that they all came together yet they were all apart.
