"So this is how it is going to be," Tracy muttered staring at her daughter, she couldn't believe that Isla was being so stupid and she knew that it was a good thing that she had come home when she did.

Isla clearly wasn't thinking straight if she had entered a relationship with Gerard, she was only going to be hurt by the footballer that was using her for his own gain.

Isla took a deep breath as she closed the door behind her, she was angry that her mother had done this in the hospital where she worked; she wasn't about to change her mind on anything especially being with Gerard.

"Do you really think he loves you?" Tracy continued to rant, she was already starting to plan how she would get Isla back to Australia; she cursed her brother for not making sure that Isla went home instead of allowing her to do her own thing.

Isla stared at her mother, she swallowed wondering what it would take to make her see that Gerard did love her; he had reacted badly to news and hated himself for hurting her.

"You're in a fragile state right now Isla, maybe it's better if you came home," Tracy continued not allowing Isla to speak, she would do anything to get Isla away from Gerard and she knew that she couldn't allow this to continue.

Isla gritted her teeth, she knew what her mother was trying to do and there was nothing wrong with her; she was an adult and she wished that her mother would see that, she was no longer a little girl.

"I am not in a fragile state," Isla hissed shaking her head, she wasn't mentally ill nor was she breakable anymore; she had moved on with her life a fact her mother failed to see.

Isla knew that trying to take her life had been the wrong decision and she had battled her depression, she was doing better and if she wasn't then she wouldn't have been able to return to nursing.

Tracy rolled her eyes, she wasn't going to give up just yet and soon Isla would see her way; she just had to find a way to break things off between her and Gerard, she didn't want anything to do with the footballer.

"Madre I am happy," Isla pleaded wanting her to listen, she wanted nothing more than for her parents to like Gerard; to get to know the real him and not the man they thought he was.

Tracy scoffed looking around the examination room that they had taken up, she was glad that she had come to the hospital since she doubted that Gerard would welcome her in his home.

"How can you be happy with that man?" Tracy muttered shaking her head, she wanted Isla to be happy of course she did but with anyone but the footballer that had broken her.

Dev had been perfect for Isla and Tracy was sure that Gerard had something to do with the fact that the couple had broken up; she had wanted Dev as her son-in-law because he was good for Isla in every way.

"I just don't see why you are doing this Isla," Tracy said turning to look at her daughter, she was going to try a different tactic; she wanted to be sure that she could plant the seed of doubt in Isla's mind.

Isla shook her head, of course her mother would see this as an act of defiance against her; she wasn't rebelling, she was dating the man that she loved and she wished her parents would respect that.

"It's almost as if you like hurting your parents," Tracy continued shaking her head, she watched Isla wondering how much she would have to push to get what she wanted; she wasn't going to let this stupidity continue.

Isla closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she felt guilt building in her chest even if she hadn't done anything wrong; Tracy was trying to guilt trip her into breaking things off with Gerard.

"I am not dating Gerard to hurt you," Isla said simply, she loved him so much and she wished that her parents would let go of the past; she didn't want to keep thinking about it now that she was doing so much better now.

Tracy pursed her lips, she had no idea why Isla couldn't see that she was only going to get hurt; Gerard had done it before and she couldn't let it happen again.

"I am an adult and I wish you'd respect my decisions," Isla whispered closing her eyes, she hated this so much and she didn't know why her mother couldn't let it go; she was sure that this was going to be okay.

Isla moved to sit down, she didn't want to fight with her parents and she wished that they would just forget about what had happened; she wasn't sure what she would do if they couldn't accept the fact that she was with Gerard.

"How can I respect them when they're idiotic," Tracy dismissed with a wave of her hand, she wasn't going to let Isla think that anything would ever change; the sooner Gerard was gone from her daughter's life the better.

Isla frowned at her mother's words, they hurt and she knew that Tracy wasn't going to stop unless she got what she wanted; it wasn't going to happen, she had hurt herself enough in the past few years.

"I think you should leave," Isla murmured moving to get to her feet, she walked over to the door and opened it; she wasn't going to talk to Tracy while she was being like this.

Tracy knew her words hurt and she would keep saying things like that until she got what she wanted; Isla wasn't going to put up with it, her mother should have been happy for her even if she was worried about the new relationship that she was in.

"Fine," Tracy spat moving to leave, she was sure that it wouldn't be long until Isla realised that she was right; she just had to find a way to prove it to her.

"You know what they say Isla... madre always knows best," Tracy muttered before she walked out of the examination room, this was far from over and she wasn't about to let this go; before 2015 was finished, Isla would be free of Gerard Piqué.

Gerard tapped his fingers on the car stirring wheel as he waited for Isla, he couldn't shake the feeling that something had happened; her shift wasn't finished yet but she had asked him to come and get her.

Gerard perked up a little spotting his girlfriend walking out of the hospital, his stomach dropped at the look on her face; he didn't know what had happened but he hoped that she was okay.

Gerard pulled off his seatbelt before he climbed out of the car, he slammed the car door shut as he walked towards Isla; she looked so upset and he would ruin the life of whoever had upset her.

"Isla?" Gerard asked moving to comfort her, her shift wasn't even halfway done and she had been allowed to leave; he worried that some journalist or paparazzi had been able to get close to her.

Isla sniffled walking over to Gerard, she threw her arms around him not wanting to cry in the street; she couldn't believe how her mother had spoken to her, she hated her for making her feel this bad.

"Isla what happened?" Gerard murmured wrapping his arms around his girlfriend, he had never seen her like this and he hated the fact that she was crying.

Gerard brushed his fingers through her hair, he looked around knowing that there was bound to be someone watching them; he didn't need this ending up in the papers, Isla was upset and the paparazzi would have a field day with this.

"My madre..." Isla whimpered holding on to Gerard, she felt bad for having to leave work early but her mother's words kept playing on her mind; she didn't want to cry over the horrible words that had been said but she couldn't stop herself.
