(1 year later)

Abby and I sat at the lunch table we always did with Cody, Leah, Zach and Luke. "So Lauryn, you going to Tyler's tonight?", Cody smirked.

"Yes. And you already asked me like 10 times".

"My bad... Hey Luke, you gonna entertain Lauryn tonight?".

"You bet dude", Luke chuckled.

"Um... No. Luke you stay away from me tonight", I warned.

"C'mon babe! Its only a matter of time before we hook up! How 'bout we speed up the process tonight?!", Luke drawled, tossing his arm across the back of my chair. I squirmed uneasily. "No", I said deffiantly before walking off to the courtyard with Abigail. "He really likes you, you know", she sighed.

"Psht PLEASE! Luke is incabable of human feelings", I retorted.

"He's been chasing you for a year Lauryn".

"So?".

"SO! If he just wanted to get with you then why's he still coming after you?".

"Because he's Luke! He probably ran out of girls from this school!", I laughed. Abby giggled and then nodded in agreement with me.

I stood at my locker and fixed my hair in the mirror. I got a huge fright when I saw Brooke standing behind me. I turned round and faced her. "What", I snapped.

"I think you should stay away from Luke", she warned.

"Excuse me?".

"You know what I mean. He's mine and you better stay away from him".

"You arent even dating him".

"How do you know?!".

"He's Luke James. He doesnt date people he just hooks up with them. And besides I dont even like him".

"Yeah right! Everyone likes him!", she scoffed. I rolled my eyes and walked away. What a freak.

Abigail sat on my bed while I looked through my clothes. I was trying to find something to wear to the party.

"I really hope Cody asks me to dance with him", she smiled shyly.

"Aw, Abbs! You're such a hopeless romantic".

"He-he! So do you want to dance with Zach?".

"Maybe... But if he's with Luke all night Im staying clear of him".

"They're best friends babe... Of course they'll be together".

"Its just so annoying! I really like Zack but stupid Luke is on my back constantly, hitting on me infront of him", I sighed as I finally decided on a black tightly fitting dress and silver heels. I left my hair down, straightened with a coif. Abby wore a red tight fitting dress (slightly longer than my own) and red heels. Her hair hung in loose curls. We both looked beautiful. I drove us to the party in my car and we parked a couple blocks down from the town hall. "Happy Birthday!", I grinned, handing him a gift bag. "Thanks beautiful", he grinned before moving on to welcome other guests.

The party was incredible! The d.j playing epic tunes like 'Halo by Bethany Joy Lenz', 'Trespassing by Adam Lambert' and 'Loaded Gun by Tyler Hilton'. "Right everyone, we're about to slow it down a bit with a special request to Lauryn! Here's 'Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls", the d.j announced. I looked around and finally saw who had asked for this song. Luke was sitting smirking at me. "Hey! Wanna dance?", Zach smiled. I nodded and wrapped my arms round his neck. He put his arms round my waist and we swayed to the music. At one point I looked away from Zach to scan the crowd and made a face when I saw Luke kissing some girl in the corner. When he pulled away from her and saw Zach and I, he glared. His eyes blazing with anger. His face then went blank and he started kissing the girl again. What was that about?! Oh my gosh! Was Luke James JEALOUS?! And of all people... Jealous of me?!
