Chapter 11.

On Saturday, Abby and I went prom dress shopping. "I mean I dont get why you're even making me go Abs... Im just saying! I dont even have a date", I whined, as she adjusted the straps of the dress I was trying on. "All the more reason babe. Who needs guys?", she shrugged.

"Um hello?! You're going with Cody!".

"Okay well I need men... But you're a powerful bitch. You can do it all on your own. I mean it takes some balls to say no to Luke... And will power... He's kind of perfect".

"Again! Helloooo? Cody!", I laughed. The dress I picked out was really pretty... How bad could it be, right? "Look at us Lauryn. We look beautiful. And I bet you'll get voted prom queen", she grinned. I made a face. Prom queens were always snooty. But she was right. We looked incredible... When Luke see's me in this dress, the game will be over and I'll have won, I thought to myself. Bring it on Luke James...

(Prom Night)

I showered and did my makeup before doing my hair. I put my long brown hair into an elegant curly updo with a few loose curls left hanging round my face. I then added some pearl drop earrings. I stood staring at my dress for a while before plucking up the courage to put it on. It was a floor length cream gown that was quite low cut at the front. The short sleeves were embelished at the tops with swarovski crystals and pears. On my feet, I wore cream heels with sparkly heels. I picked up my cream stole and wrapped it round my shoulders. Too afraid to look in the mirror, I grabbed my clutch bag and went downstairs. My parents, Vanessa, Luke's father Todd, Cody, Luke and Abby were already waiting. Luke and Cody looked so handsome in their black tuxedo's and Abby looked stunning in her dress. It was mint green chiffon with a mint green bodice covered in diamonds. It was also floorlength. Everyone smiled at me as I walked down the stairs. Id noticed that Cody had given Abby a corsage - how sweet. When I got to the bottom, Luke stepped towards me. "Luke doesnt have a date either so you're going together", Vanessa clapped enthusiastically. What?! No no no no... I was going nowhere with him! Especially not infront of Zach. I turned to face Luke again who was smiling sheepishly at me. He pulled a box out of his back pocket and took out the corsage. It was beautiful. Cream roses were my favourite. He tied it round my wrist and took my hand. "Thank you Luke", I blushed. We finally managed to leave after my father took about a billion pictures of us (once he figured out how to turn the camera on). Luke held the car door open for me and helped my climb inside. This could actually be fun, I thought. As soon as the engine started up, Cody was blasting music and Abby and I were laughing and singing. Watch out Abbey Mount High! Here comes the baddest badasses in town!

[AN:-hope youre all remembering that Luke DOESNT ACTUALLY LIKE LAURYN. Just saying...]
