The following day at school, Zach, Logan, Brady, Cody, Abby and I sat together at lunch. "Did you hear about Danny?", Brady asked. Everyone nodded and smiled except for me. "Did I miss something?", I laughed. "Didnt I tell you baby? Sorry, I must have forgotten but anyway Danny's having a party tonight. You guys going?", Zach told me then asked the rest of the group the last part. "Obviously!" Abby laughed. "Yeah, man! Brady and me are carpooling with Brooke and Taylor", Logan laughed, hi-fiving Brady in the process. "What about you Cody? And you wanna go too Laurie?", Zach grinned. I nodded and so did Cody. "What time does it start, by the way? And where should we meet?", I questioned. And so we all made plans and decided to meet at the hotel The Lake View Inn's restaurant since it was nearest for everybody to get to. Logan and Brady were meeting up at Brooke's house to get her and Taylor and we'd just get them at the party and then the rest of us were carpooling together. I followed Abby out of the cafeteria and to English class.

"Pssst! Lauryn!", Hayden whispered to me.

"What?!", I demanded.

"Are you going to Danny's party tonight?", he inquired.

"Yes... Why? Did you seriously interupt ENGLISH for that?!", I growled.

"Uhh yeah... Well I wanna go but I dont know anybody. Would you maybe hang out with me there? Introduce me to some of your friends?", he begged.

"Fine, whatever. Now be quiet! Im trying to listen", I retorted and turned back to face the board. Wait... If Zach was also going to the party then... What was I supposed to do about Hayden? Im pretty sure Zach wouldnt be happy with me hanging around my ex!

*Before the party*

Abby was in the bathroom taking a shower and I was alone in my room doing my hair and make-up. I straightened my hair and put on light, natural makeup. I looked over at my dress and smiled. It was a black Dolce and Gabana dress. It was quite short but not so short that I couldnt pull it off. Abby came out the bathroom and sat on my bed to dry her hair. I picked up my phone and was surprised to see 3 missed calls from Luke. I stepped out into the hallway and closed my door so that I could hear better to call him back. He picked up after a couple rings. "Hey Luke".

"Hey Lauryn... How are you?".

"Im good. You?".

"Im fine. Listen are you going to that party tonight? Hayden told me about it when he visited me yesterday".

"Yeah I am. Its a shame you wont be able to go... Anyway why do you ask?".

"Just be careful, please".

"Why?".

"Brooke's gonna be there... I dont want her hurting you, okay?".

"O-of course.. Yeah, sure".

"Good. Now Im getting out of here tomorrow so I want you to be there", he laughed.

"Thats great! Yeah, I'll be there. I should go get dressed now, Im leaving soon... Well I'll see ya tomorrow then!", I smiled.

"Have fun, bye", he answered. I hung up the phone and went back into my room. Abby had her dress on and was fastening her shoes. Her dress was royal blue and about the same length as my own. Her shoes were also royal blue and they were swede wedges with ankle straps. "You look gorgeous", I comented. "I guess the dress and shoes are pretty", she shrugged. "YOU'RE gorgeous Abs", I laughed. She frowned, her brows drawn together and she bent back over to fasten the other shoe. I put on my own dress and shoes which were black patent wedge heels with criss crosses up the front. We lifted our bags and went downstairs to wait on Zach and Cody.

*At the party*

When we got to the party, we were greeted by Brady and Logan in the front yard, then by Danny at the door. "Hey man!", Logan cheered. "Hey bro! Hey guys", Danny chuckled, "Go on in". We all smiled and thanked him as we entered the main hallway. The house was packed full of people from our school and others. Im pretty sure alot of them were college kids too. I didnt recognise most of the people I saw. But then I spotted 3 faces I deffinitely knew. Brooke, Hayden and Taylor were heading towards us. "What are you doing here?", Zach demanded, looked Hayden straight in the eye. "Its a party man. Where else would I be?", he laughed.

"Why were you invited? You've only been back about 5 minutes".

"The whole school was invited! Anyway I thought we were friends back about "5 minutes" when I came back".

"That was before you told my girlfriend you wanted to be with her".

"Oh".

"Yeah "oh". I think you should probably leave man", Zach suggested.

"Im actually only here because your "girlfriend" said I could hang with her. So Lauryn? How about you introduce these friends of yours to me", Hayden smirked.

"I would, but you know you're kind of being a jackass. I agree with Zach. Maybe its best you went home", I snapped. Hayden glared at me then shrugged and pushed through the crowds. "Come on, lets just dance", I urged, pulling Zach out onto the dance floor. He wrapped his right arm around my waist and held my right hand with his left. I put my left hand on his shoulder and we swayed to the music. It was one my favourite songs that was being played on the stereo, Be Still by The Fray. "Its a good song", Zach commented. "yeah it is", I sighed happily.

I looked around myself. Most of the people dancing were from our group. A few couples away from us I saw Brooke and Hayden dancing together. Id thought when he walked away from us he left but clearly not. I was careful to keep Zach's back to them incase he attacked him for not leaving. Abby and Cody were dancing just passed Brooke and Hayden. He was whispering in her ear and she was smiling. He then kissed her and they started dancing again. I burried my face in Zach's shoulder and followed his lead to 21 Guns by Greenday which was the next song that came on. We danced like that for a few more songs until he went off to get us drinks and I went to the bathroom. When I came back out, Danny bumped into me. "Oh, sorry!", he appologised.

"Nah, its cool".

I didnt see you... I was kinda somewhere else if you know what I mean".

"Dont worry Im good".

"So you go to school with me?".

"Yeah... Im not sure we're in many classes together though".

"Yeah... Im best friends with Brady but he doesnt really hang with you guys much".

"I know. Its a shame really. You seem really nice".

"Thanks... Ditto".

"I better let you get back to your boyfriend", he chuckled and went back to his guests. I turned to head to the bar but heard someone calling my name. I spun around. "Oh my gosh Luke!!! I thought you werent getting out until tomorrow!", I gasped and threw my arms around him. "Surprise", he laughed and hugged me back.
