Alfonso's POV
We had reached the end of the woods when we followed Mother nature.
"You all should be careful now. Who knows when someone or something might appear and could hurt you. This is as far as I can take you all before saying my goodbye," Mother nature started. "Please be safe for me and Summer's sake. We're not ones who like hearing or seeing others in danger,"
............................
Silence.
Hisa bumped my arm as Mother nature was waiting for me to say anything.
"....Thanks..." I spewed out. Mother nature smiled as Summer flew back onto his shoulder.
"You're welcome," he said. "Maybe we'll meet each other again some day. Only time will tell,"
We exited the forest and were on our way. I started to hear something losing it's breath, sounding like some tired or hyper dog who had forgotten how to breath. I glanced down and had noticed Bruno wasn't by my side. I quickly looked back and saw him struggling to keep up with the rest of us.
"W...Wait....we should....t..take...a...break...!" Bruno said with remaining breath. Hisa and Reiki walked over to me and both took our bags. They gave Bruno the side eye.
"He might not even make it to the next village if his energy is that low," Reiki stated.
"You're right," I said walking over to Bruno.
"I'm sorry..." he said feeling guilt that he had stopped everyone because he couldn't walk anymore.
"It's not your fault. You don't need to be sorry," Hisa replied. I turned around and kneeled down exposing my back to Bruno.
"Get on," I said. Bruno must've felt a bit awkward as Reiki and Hisa were both watching us. I then heard Bruno's small footsteps coming closer to me as he slowly adjusted himself onto me. I stood back up and carried him. "Now we can keep going," Bruno wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his chin onto my left shoulder. I looked forward seeing the annoying length of Bruno's string. Why'd his lover have to be so far away? What a pain in the ass. I wanted to take a strong pull onto the string, but I could end up hurting one or the other, and I shouldn't do that for both of their sakes.
"It's a shame that there's no map," Reiki complained walking beside me.
"That's because no one ever chooses to leave their villages. They like where they live, or else they'll find somewhere else to live if it's that miserable," I responded.
"I wonder if Mother nature had a village he was born in," Bruno said.
"He probably lived pretty close to your village if he called it the Encanto," Hisa replied. "He could've always possibly grew up in your village,"
"But why would he want to leave?"
"It could be based on his family relations,"
"Family relations...That takes me back," Bruno mumbled remembering when he'd been hiding inside of the house walls his entire life in order to keep his family safe from his cursed gift. "What about your guys' parents?"
"Hmm? Our parents? They're nothing too crazy, just normal people trying to get by. They don't have gifts though. We were actually adopted," Reiki explained. "Our real parents left us in our village as everyone else had fled off due to those white travlers,"
"Oh, I'm sorry for asking. I should've thought if it'd be a hard topic to talk about," Bruno responded. Reiki laughed.
"It's alright. It's all in the past now. So don't worry your little head off," Reiki stated.
