Narrator's POV

Alfonso could see the travelers in the distance, only coming closer to them. Alfonso grabbed Bruno, and they both hig behind a tree. Bruno's eyes and body trembled in fear, holding onto Alfonso for dear life. Alfonso felt like an idiot, as the two had left the borderline of the magic. Why the hell did he think it was okay? Alfonso looked back, trying to find a way for the both of them to make it. Although, he knew deep down, probably only one could make it. He looked down at his scared little Bruno, shivering.

"Hey," Alfonso whispered. Bruno looked up, squinting a bit in fear. "I'm gonna make a distraction, so you can go back to the Encanto,"

Bruno shook his head, denying his plan.

"I can't go back without you," Bruno stated. Alfonso squeezed his hand.

"Go find the others. I promised your mother that I'd protect you, no matter what. You need to be safe," Alfonso slowly loosened his grip, as the sound of horses only came closer. Bruno held onto Alfonso's shirt, but Alfonso only removed his hand and stood up. The travelers got off their horses, not seeing behind the tree. "Bruno, I need you go now,"

Alfonso pulled something out of his hand that he had been hiding from Bruno's sight. It was a flower crown, made by Alfonso himself. He placed it onto Bruno like it was his goodbye. Bruno tried to grab onto him, but Alfonso pushed him and walked out for the travelers to see. He put his hands up, surrender to them. For some safety for Bruno.

Bruno held onto the flower crown, and he knew what he sadly had to do. He ran back towards the Encanto, but then he tripped causing attention towards himself. Alfonso's eyes widen, in fear. His heartbeat raced then looked down at his wrist.

The string was still wrapped around his wrist. Alfonso freaked out on the inside.

"Run!" Alfonso said as he leaned and cut the string off with his teeth. As he watched Bruno run away, the string of fate slowly revealed itself cut and raw stuck onto Alfonso's finger.

The one he thought he couldn't love, came to be the person he saw running away from him.

It's alright, thought Alfonso. He'll be safe.

The travelers tied up Alfonso's hands and kicked him onto the ground. They tried to find Bruno, but he was nowhere to be found.

Bruno had ran back into Edward's village and told them the news. Bruno's eyes couldn't stop streaming down tears. His hands shook as he talked with them. Jae perked up and tried to run back to get Alfonso, but Hisa and Reiki had to hold him back.

Jae wouldn't make it in time. They also knew that they should not expose their gifts, this could lead to worse.

Hisa had to hold Bruno, so he wouldn't fall over. The colors of Bruno's face what vanished as they had drained out of his body.

"That's why you never leave the Encanto," Edward said. He walked over and placed a blanket over Bruno, then ran off to tell the rest of the village. Jae, feeling stressed knew he had to take care of the village. He used his portals to carefully transport them to his own village. The rest of the crew slowly walked towards the borderline to see if Alfonso had been taken.

There was only the silent night.

Hisa was carrying Bruno on his back as Bruno had cried himself to sleep with his puffy eyes rubbing his back. The four were saddened as the mood of joy and happiness had suddenly vanished. Jae had taken a glance and noticed Bruno had a flower crown on his head. He knew who had given it to him.

Bruno's POV

I had fallen into a slumber. My body felt too weak to move as I had lost all of my energy. My whole vision went dark.
