"I don't know. it looks like i've got it in the bag if you ask me, gardner." Harriet said, lining up a shot on the dart board in the kitchen. casey and harriet had just gotten home from training and they were extremely bored so harriet had come up with the idea of playing darts in the kitchen. however, since neither of them knew how to play darts they had created their own game of seeing who could hit the bullseye first.

"i hate to disagree, steale." casey said, smirking.

"no, you don't."

"no, i don't."

Harriet tossed the dart and it landed just outside the bullseye. "ugh, so close!" she groaned and casey laughed, standing up from the stool she had been sitting on.

"move over, steale. let me show you how it's done." she said, lining up her shot completely wrong. she tossed it and missed the entire board nevermind the bullseye.

"that's how it's done is it?" harriet said raising her eyebrow. she walked over to the wall and took both the darts back. "let me show you."

she walked back over to casey and put the dart in the taller girls hand. then she used her own hand to line up the shot, she leaned her head closer to casey and says, "see?" but when she turns to face casey she isn't looking at the dart. she's looking right at harriet, mouth slightly open. harriet was now very aware of the little space between their faces. their noses are almost touching and harriet swore she saw casey leaning in. but before she had time to find out the front door opened.

in walked elsa wearing shades and a long black coat, she hadn't been in the house the whole day and all of last night. the two girls practically sprung back from each other and turned bright red. "Mom." casey said.

"oh am i interrupting something?" elsa asked, her voice sounded airy and light as thought she was high but the girls were too flustered to notice.

"nope. we were just playing darts. right, casey?"  harriet said, nodding.

"yup." casey said with a tight lipped smile.

"well, okay." elsa said and disappeared upstairs.

harriet turned around to face casey again, her face still as red as her hair. "yeah, so um...thats how you shoot properly."

"what?....oh, um. cool." she smiled awkwardly and lined up her shot. harriet stared at the board a little bit too intensely focusing all her thoughts away from whatever just happened between them. she was sure that casey had been leaning in. but why would she lean in? she has a boyfriend. she's not gay. is she? no, that's ridiculous. casey gardner could not be gay.

could she?

casey had apparently thrown the dart and went to collect it whilst harriet was in her weird trance and she was now standing in from of her, holding out the dart. harriet looked up at her and took the dart, "Thanks."

the night after the whole darts ordeal had been pretty weird but both girls seemed to have a made a silent promise to never speak of it. they were walking down the steps at lunch, having an ordinary conversation as they walked over to the rest of the track team, who were all laughing.

"what's up? what are we talking about?" casey started and the whole team looked at them and stopped laughing, which harriet thought was rather odd. "hope it's the lacrosse team getting their eyebrows pierced because that's hilarious."

"we gotta go, come on." one girl said, and harriet scrunched her eyebrows together. she was convinced that her life couldn't get any weirder. it was like she was on one of those prank tv shows and someone was gonna jump out of the bush with a camera any second.
