When can I love you
My darling dearest,
Allow me to tell you all the times I can love you.
I can love you in the morning,
When the dew is set and the sun is yawning
I can love you as I imagine you in our kitchen dancing to the music as I cook,
Each pop from the pan like an extra note to the song
I can love you when I go to work,
I can imagine you waving goodbye to me as
The  sunflowers giggle at our actions, the birds chirp in congratulation
I can love you when I'm busy,
When my brows furrow and I look at the work before me
Just at times I think it gets too hard I'll remember that I do it for you,
And even then, I love you
I can love you when I  eat lunch,
I wait for your reply, and nibble at the food you packed for me,
I listen to the music that reverberates in my mind echoing from the earbuds into my brain
I can love you when I drive home,
Singing to songs we've silently dedicated to each other,
We don't say it but with each lyric I can see us dancing together hand in hand from each word to the next
I can love you when I get home, taking a step into our home,
Feeling the warmth and greeting the ghost of our families,
Smelling the familiar scent of home and running into your arms as if I were a child once more.
Seeing your smile,
I can love you when we take a seat for dinner,
When you look at me from your seat at the table,
A smile written so perfectly on your features,
A perfect puzzle crafted by the gods.
I can love you when you argue with me about washing dishes,
You tell me you've got it,
But I tell you I'd like to help,
The way your face pouts when I put myself to work despite your opinion of me needing rest
I can love you when we take a shower together,
The way the water caresses your skin so gently,
The way the soap cleans your skin
claiming the smell of the soap as your own
The way the water drips slowly tracing your curves how I'd love my hands to
I can love you when we get ready for bed,
The smell of your hair, fresh strawberries I imagine,
The way the bed dips when you crawl in beside me and take your spot in my arms,
Fitting so perfectly, belonging so lovely,
Hugging you and smelling you,
Taking in every detail I missed while I was away,
Making sure not to miss a second more,
Carving each and every memory of you in my brain, making sure to keep it there forever.
I can love you when I can no longer keep my eyes open,  When I feel you grow heavy with sleep in my arms, the soft sound of your breath as you sleep, so peaceful and beautiful,
I can love you when my mind slips into sleep
When my dreams are filled with pictures of you and records of our happiest moments shared,
I can love you all the time.
