As someone who's never been heart broken to the point I can't function properly with certain things before,
This is what I imagine heartbreak being like.
I imagine heartbreak being a numbing thing,
That maybe at first you think nothing of it
You move on
But then things start to remind you of that person,
The faint scent of them in your bed sheets.
The reminder of all their favorite places to go with you.
Their favorite foods,
Certain shampoos or candles that smell like them
A song they dedicated to you
A movie they begged you to watch
All of these things, breaking you slowly, watching you crack as you remember all of them. The way their lips tasted on yours, the way their skin felt against yours, the way they looked at you with a devilish grin that you knew all too well what it  meant. The way their clothes fit on them perfectly, the way the water dripped down their skin in the shower, their smiles so silly and carefree. It's almost comedic. All these memories seemed to have been dipped in gold and sunshine, but now it's all cold.. And blue. Only the bitter feeling of the happy memories shine in the darkness of what you were left with, glass shatters of your heart.
