Flash's jaw was on the floor next to me. There's no way to describe it better. I've never seen Flash so still, and he claims to have ADHD.
Peter's eyes were wide, his mask in hand as he looked between Flash and I.
And me? I don't even want to imagine what my face is right now. But as I turned all the way to Flash, his face is ghostly white. His eyes are massive, and his mouth agape to the point where I'm sure I can shove my entire arm in it and he wouldn't choke.
"Uh---" Peter stuttered, shifting his body side to side as the door remains wide open, Flash and I frozen in the doorway.
This cannot actually be happening right in front of my eyes. Are we even going to be able to play this off? God damnit, Peter.
Attempting to compose myself, I put my hand on Flash's back and rush him into the apartment, figuring that the best thing I can do right now is make sure that no one else sees Peter.
Flash didn't go against me, his face still frozen in shock as I slammed the door behind me and quickly locked it. I leaned against the door for a moment, trying to accept the fact that this is really happening right now.
Peter stared at me, not knowing what to do or say.
"I can explain!" Peter suddenly shouted, Flash finally blinking in his shocked state.
"God damnit, Peter. Why did you open the door?! You heard Flash outside of the door! Why did you open it while you're in suit?!" I hollered at Peter as he stared at Flash, Flash's mouth finally closing since it was probably dried out.
"I didn't hear Flash! I thought it was just you!" He turned towards me as I walked up and snatched the umbrella out of Flash's hand, tossing it into the sink to dry out.
I ran a frustrated hand through my hair before walking to stand in front of Flash, waving my hand in front of his trained eyes.
He blinked a few times, his jaw clenching slightly as he looked down at me.
"Flash, I can explain," Peter said from behind me, surprising me that he's even trying to come up with an excuse for this.
"You're Spider-Man," Flash whispered, staring between Peter and I.
God damnit! We are so royally screwed.
I turned around to Peter, eyes wild. He furrowed his brows, face palming himself momentarily.
"What are we going to do, Peter? There's no way to get out of this!" I whisper-yelled to him, standing right in front of his tall frame.
"There might've been before if you hadn't practically revealed to him that I am in fact Spider-Man!" He flung his arms up in defense.
"What? What would you have said? 'Hey Flash, I'm a Spider-Man actor. I do this for kids birthdays'? No!" I mocked him, earning a big eye roll.
"You know, I might've said that, and it might've worked if you hadn't cussed me out for opening the door! Now there's no way to hide from this!" He huffed out an annoyed breath at me as I rubbed my forehead. I'm going to look ten years older after this stressful situation, I've already accepted that.
