Chapter 6: The Confession

Natsu leaned against the blooming cherry blossom tree behind the school and wiped his eyes.

He'd never be more humiliated .

Not only did he totally have a drama queen moment but he ran off crying. If Gray didn't think too low of him before he must now.

"Stop it! Who cares what that moron thinks!?" Natsu yelled frustrated while slapping his head.

Natsu whimpered to himself and slunk is head in his knees. He hated his life. He hated school. He hated everyo-

"Geez, honestly if I didn't know any better I would seriously think your a girl."

Natsu looked up and Gray was standing above him smiling. It wasn't his cold sarcastic smile, it was something else.

"What are you...?" Natsu mumbled.

"Doing here?" Gray finished his sentence.

"In full honesty I was worried so I wanted to check on ya." Gray shrugged.

Natsu shook his head. Worried? Gray was worried about him?

"YOU were worried about ME? You hardly even know me." Natsu said blankly staring at his hands.

Gray grumbled. "So when a person goes off crying it's rude to go after them to see if their okay?"
Natsu clenched his teeth.

"When your the one who caused the crying yeah!" He sobbed.

There was no stopping him now. Natsu was in full fledged cry baby mode. Tears streamed down his face and he was failing at not keeping his mouth shut when he whined.

"Okay! Okay! Stop crying!" Gray snapped frantically and crouched down to Natsu's level.

"I'm sorry I was mean." He said quietly.
"I just...you... your the only person I've met who has talked to me like, well you know." Gray shrugged.

"Your interesting to me."

Natsu looked up at Gray who's hair covered his eyes.

"And I do know you. Maybe not personally, but you always hang out with Loke and his girlfriend. So I've seen you around."

'Was Gray... Was he actually paying attention to me this entire time and I didn't even know it?' Natsu thought.

The butterflies in Natsu's stomach whirled around once again.

What was with this guy? Natsu barely even knew him and he made Natsu feel like a little schoolgirl in love.

In love.

Just how he was with Lisanna. And she never even knew.

Maybe if she had known things would have been different. Only if she had known.

"Gray..." Natsu whispered.

"Are you okay?" Gray asked moving his mouth to a half smile.

"No." Natsu started crying again. "No I'm not."

"Gray I think...I think I like you."

Natsu sighed. He did it. He didn't care how Gray responded, as long as Gray knew. And then his heart sunk.

"I just wanted you to know. Its not like it matters. You look like your the straightest they come, you probably even have a pretty popular girlfriend anyway." Natsu's voice shook.

Gray looked at Natsu with disbelief.

"Wait, you don't know?"
"Know what?" Natsu sighed. Gray started chuckling which was honestly a bit scary.

"Yeah I'm straight. Straight as a frickin circle." Gray laughed.

"Straight as a...but wait circles aren't..." Natsu made a circle with his finger, attempting to unravel the puzzle.

"I'm gay Natsu." He laughed. "Have been for the last 3 years."

Natsu's mind went blank.

"Wait...WHAT!?" Natsu yelled.

"So then did I just admit having a gay attraction to a gay guy?!" Natsu said to himself.

"Yeah it's a miracle right?" Gray stood up and crossed his arms.

"Alright listen up cause I'm only saying this once." He glared.

Natsu scoffed and looked up at Gray.

"You've got one shot. Only one. You blow it that's your fault. So make sure you blow me instead of the chance alright cutie?" Gray smirked with a wink.

Natsu's face turned 5 shades of red.

Gray waved and started walking away.

Natsu couldn't help but smile to himself.

Granted Gray was a complete asshole, self centred and cocky bastard.
But it's the first time Natsu actually had a chance with someone he wanted to be with.

Natsu stood up. 'I will blow him...er his world away.' Natsu thought.

Because he wanted that prince.
