"Well, I guess it's time to fix this shitfight then." I said, looking from Ratchet to Rivet with a smile. Ratchet responded with a thumbs up and put Clank on his back before pulling out the unpowered Dimensionator. I nodded and pulled out the phase quartz, smiling at him before turning and walking towards the door to the pub, the rest of the group following me.
Before it opened, I turned back to look at Kit, who was walking behind Rivet. I silently signalled to Rivet that she should offer to see if Kit wanted to ride on her back. She nodded and turned to the robot. "Do you want to, uhm--" I watched the exchange with a smile on my face, Kit clearly seeming excited as she ran over and jumped onto the magnet on Rivet's back, giving me a thumbs up as we all stepped towards the door.
I pressed a button on the frame next to me and it opened, and we were greeted by a room full of Nefarious Bots and other troopers. I rolled my eyes and Rivet, Ratchet and I put our hands in the air as we heard another bot come up behind us, knowing we'd been captured by Dr Nefarious.
The room was full to the brim with Nefarious Bots of all shapes and sizes, all with their eyes locked on us. We knew Nefarious was in here somewhere since the Emperor's Assistant hovered over to us and took the Dimensionator components from us. The bot had to yank the Phase Quartz out of my hand quite forcefully, as I had a tight grip on it. I gave the bot a scowl as it turned to push through the crowd once more, and every other bot in the room seemed to step closer.
I put my hands a little higher in the air and looked around the robots, who seemed to ease up a little at my gesture. As the Emperor's Assistant turned away from us, the crowd of robots parted in front of it to reveal Dr Nefarious and...
"Is that another human?" Ratchet asked, leaning towards me and whispering in my ear.
"I think so-" I replied, glancing from the figure standing with Nefarious to Rivet, who also seemed to have something to say. I leaned to my other side, where Rivet was standing, and she started whispering to me too.
"Y/N, I think it.. He- I think he looks like you..." She whispered. I froze at the thought, my brain unable to process the information for a moment.
"But by my calculations, your dimensional counterpart would not be as nice or... good as you."
Clank's observation from a few days before suddenly pushed its way into my mind, and suddenly I knew exactly what happened. "I came here..." He began, talking under his breath. "So he did too..."
I watched as the figure stepped into the light and revealed his face... we were the same. Our eyes, our hair - hell, even the colour of our skin was identical. He smiled, taking the Dimensionator parts from the Emperor's Assistant and handing them off to Dr Nefarious, who examined the pieces before laughing his annoying laugh, stepping forward.
"Does this dimension love us or what?" He asked rhetorically, throwing his head back at my counterpart. They both laughed, and the so-far unnamed copy of me stepped forward.
"Dr Nefarious." Ratchet said with a slight growl, glaring at Nefarious from across the room.
With a swift movement, my counterpart jumped forward and delivered a punch to Ratchet's stomach that sent the Lombax doubling over. "Not a word, you furry freak." He spoke... and he sounded like me too.
"No... no way.... there's no way..." I whispered, feeling my heart start to beat rapidly in my chest as he stepped towards me, inspecting me.
"Huh. I suppose you're supposed to be me then." He said, stepping back. "Except you're a good- no, weak person." He mocked, smirking at me.
"Hey, ya stupid fleshbag!" Rivet shouted, giving him a glare sharp enough to kill. "Don't talk about him like that! He's better than you'll ever be and you know it!"
He laughed a sour, mocking laugh and stepped towards Rivet, placing a hand under her chin. "And I suppose you are the belligerent hero girlfriend then. Aren't you?" Rivet growled in response. "I'll take that as a yes." He stepped back, examining the three. "If it isn't obvious, I'm the bad guy." He said, placing his hands behind his back. "The name's Enno, and yes: I'm here to ruin your day."
A/N: Really short chapter today, had to rework and rewrite this a lot! But now at least we've got our new antagonist introduced and you've all got a bit of an update! I am packing and getting ready to move to sunny Queensland, so updates may be scarce and under worded, but know I'll try my best to get something out soon!
