Mutually agreeing to spend more time with each other which contradicted the earlier plan, the two found themselves by the park where their older brothers set them up to reconcile.

Her eyes looked straight as she recalls that day, Donghee smiles before turning to Jeno who's seated beside her, eyes scanning the place in awe as they both were seated there in calming silence basking in the warmth unseen by passersby.

"I'd usually go here when I need a little.. space", her soft voice ended the silence, followed by her reaching down for a small pile of snow, "Cause of things like this..", Donghee adds, chuckling shortly after.

Jeno looks down at her hands that still hold the said snow before sighing, "Every time I look at snow, I get reminded that everything has its end.."

"Because it ends summer?"

"Well.."

"There are things that we can't stop Blue", she says while dropping the remains of snow from her hands, Donghee spares the bare tree a glance "Autumn wouldn't have existed if Winter didn't"

That's not what I meant by having its end, Jeno tells himself but refrains from saying it out loud, finding their conversation a different way of connecting.

"But then again, I found my soul's mate during Winter", Jeno comments positively, a smile beautifully gracing his lips as his eyes look at Donghee's side profile.

"I might melt"

"What?"

Donghee chuckled at his flustered state, reaching to intertwine their hands, "You're too whipped for me Blue"

Stepping in front of the said house, Jeno felt his heart race, unhelped by him overthinking what could possibly go wrong with officially meeting his soul mate's family.

"Blue, it's okay..", Donghee soothingly tells him, sending a calming shiver down his spine as she smiles reassuringly to him after noticing the change in his expression, "I'm with you, okay?", she adds, gently squeezing his hand that's intertwined with hers.

"She's probably on her wa- oh would you look at that", the sweet moment the mates shared briefly ended by the appearance of Daehyun who was just about to fetch their older sister only to find her right in front of their gates, surprisingly with her so-called mate.

Seeing their intertwined hands, the said child's eyes widened before hurrying back inside, "THEY'RE HERE!", Daehyun squeals excitedly, voice echoing.

"He's usually loud when excited", Donghee explains to Jeno who couldn't help and cover his ears.

Welcomed by Dongjin who wore a warm smile, Jeno felt much at ease, politely bowing to her and to Donggeun who had a formal smile.

"I see you're smart enough", the latter comments, timidly nodding his head towards the boy before throwing a glance to his daughter who confidently smiled, raising a thumbs up.

"Hyuck's training should be ending by now, so we'll just wait for him.You should take a seat for the meantime.", Dongjin tells them, ushering Jeno to the couch, surprising Donghee by her calm and formal demeanor.

The awaited eldest child arrived minutes later, his tired expression brightening up in mischief as he passes the two seated beside each other with intertwined hands that rests on Jeno's lap comfortably.

"So touched you guys waited for me before you had the talk", Donghyuck began as soon as they gathered around the dining table with Daehyun and Donghee switching seats to have her seated beside Jeno.

Despite feeling nervous, Donghee scoffed at this, darting a warning look to his direction, "I sure hope it's not the talk I'm thinking", she says before turning to Jeno who seemed to be much relaxed.

"We should've had that talk ever since you met him but you being you..", Dongjin interjects, her tone condescending yet her eyes look at the two remained plain, "It's basically our job as parents to make sure you don't do something stupid"

"I know mom, but I also want to-"

"Do you feel the heat bond?", her father's authority-filled voice cut her response right through, his heavy gaze directed to the blue-haired boy who pursed his lips in a thin line before answering.

"Yes sir"

"And you still haven't tried to bond with Hee?", the elder questions further, raising a scrutinizing brow at Jeno.

Shaking his head, Jeno lightly raised his hand, gesturing to Donghee who felt herself shrink in the padded seat, "I'm waiting for her to be ready"

"Knowing noona, she'd be ready after a thousand years", Daehyun snickers meekly, thinking only Donghyuck would've heard.

Shushing his youngest son, Donggeun retains his gaze but is now shared by the two blue-headed teens, "A heat bond is sealed usually with a kiss, it leaves a permanently red mark.", he utters, turning his head upwards to show a faint red mark by the center, lower part of his chin.

"Because your sense is heat, the mark's gonna feel kinda hot for a while", Dongjin adds, earning a head-turning to her direction as she points at the joint of her wrists, back of her hand, where a similarly hued mark resides.
